Jack looked in the same direction Lucas was in, seeing the dot in the distance. His face lost its smile, and he replied calmly:
"I didn't forget, nor did I make a choice. I instead left the choice open for your new friend. His reaction will tell us more about him, and the Empire. Will they save the slaves, free them, hide them, throw them back in hell after a show of benevolence?"
Lucas remained silence for a moment, then commented:
"The experiment is already contaminated."
Just Lucas and the value he was presenting had made his involvement change the situation. His intentions and what he might want to see would influence the results of the experiment Jack had used the other slaves to invest in. That was the value of strength, the influence brought by power.
Jack didn't disagree. Because he understood what Lucas was getting at, he nodded:
"Maybe, but a contaminated result is still better than no result to go with at all."
"Then, we wait, and we will see."
