Doing her best to remain conscious, Evangeline saw Null's back before her while Ego gently held her while pouring spirit water into her gradually.
'That voice... and that unruly hair...,' she was slowly gaining her strength back while in the arms of the watery spirit.
"W-who are you," she managed to say after gathering her thoughts.
"Don't worry. We're friends of Edmond's," Ego smiled, "Well, technically Null there is a former student."
Evangeline's eyes widened at the name drop, "Null? B-but how?"
Ego merely brushed her disheveled hair from her face and put a finger to her mouth, "That can all wait for later. Right now, you should conserve your strength and ready yourself to be reunited with your lover."
'My lover? So, I really get to see my Edmond once more.'
Hot tears fell from her eyes as she smiled resplendently, but her emotions soon grew twisted as she realized the gravity of the situation.
She had been with the dastardly God practically her whole life and knew that he was nigh omnipotent and haughty to match.
Every angel guard and holy knight that protected the peace were nothing in the eyes of the God's hidden reign.
If Null, who she had no understanding of his new strength and ability, were to face such a threat she could not fathom results other than certain death.
Noticing her growing worry, Ego propped her up and told her of the story behind Null's current unfathomable circumstance.
From the start of the journey to the present, Null had befriended, ended, and began anew with the ones he met along the way.
It all started that fateful day on his home planet.
And now, even when facing a so-called God, Null kept his chin up and refused to let the one he had to protect see him falter.
Just seeing her condition made him pissed to no end.
'She's smiling even when she's been treated like a prisoner til this day. If I let teach see her like this who knows how he'll react.'
Null knew that Ego's spirit water was one of the most potent rejuvenators by far, so she would be taken care of.
With his full focus on the no-good evildoer of a God, he prepared to use his instincts to fuel his attacks with the Emotions since their power reflected that of God-like standards.
He already had practice with the violent red energy and propulsive purple energy.
They fit perfectly with Rage and Repulsion.
He just had to match the Emotions with suitable emotion-based energies, and he had basically a cheat to godhood.
The Cosmic Authority truly had no equal.
It was a wonder how long the God of the Angelic Realm had existed, but to think that a kid bestowed the power of the cosmos could rival him in less than a decade of wielding its might was staggering.
Null figured a good beam to the face would end the fight quickly, but he did not want to end things quickly.
He would return the cruelty placed upon Evangeline severalfold not for justice, but for the sake of his integrity.
He felt the responsibility of being a sort of leader despite those around him being just as important as he was.
However, he knew that because of his Cosmic Authority and the decisions he made that it was practically only him that united his motley crew.
Since the day the world underwent its rebirth, he was burdened with the decision to find those that survived and reunite with them.
It was a selfish decision as he was technically the one behind their inevitable deaths, but he disregarded that and figured that each of the reincarnated crew members had their own autonomy.
As for Theef and Barter's Ruler, they were along for the ride as he helped them to not only advance their power but provide a source of salutary excitement in their otherwise chosen lives.
Now that one of his own was found to be treated so brutally— not even knowing the severity of the happenings— Null was not about to waste time worrying about the details.
By the time the God had fully processed the situation and was ready to attack Null, he was met with a swift blow to the face before he knew what hit him.
The purple glow of the Repulsive energy faded and revealed Null standing before the dumbstruck God.
"Get up."
The words were filled with nothing but malice as Null was not playing around.
Feeling a dreadful feeling like never before, the God could only regain his bearings and try to counterattack.
He quickly set up another prismatic barrier as he lifted off of the floor and trained his focus on Null.
"I'll kill you!"
He madly tried to concentrate on forming a concentrated prismatic beam attack while still protected by the barrier, but Null had other plans for him.
While the angry God brought his hands together, he walked up to the barrier slowly like there was no threat at all and flicked it.
Crack!
Just like that, the barrier shattered leaving the God utterly distraught as to what monster he found himself facing.
The flick was imbued with the violent, crimson Rage and condensed with the help of a sturdy, brown Determination.
With the barrier out of the way, Null kept on walking towards the God mid preparation.
Just as the prismatic laser was ready to be fired, the God was relishing the fact that Null had not decided to move faster.
Sheen!
The laser shot out towards Null at a blinding pace and seemingly landed on him causing a massive explosion.
Ego shielded Evangeline from the rubble that fell from the hole above and the force that spread from the explosion.
"I-is he okay? He took a direct hit just now," Evangeline voiced her concern.
"It'll take a lot more than that to faze Null. Just look," Ego said confidently.
As if he was not hit by the laser, Null stood unfazed by the attack.
"Impossibl-," the God started but was shut up by another high-speed propulsion punch.
His body crashed to the ground once more and Null did not do anything but speak again, "Get up."
The blows were not anything serious to the God, but that made it all the worse for him.
His hubris could not handle the fact that a punk like Null was manhandling a God like himself.
"Rahhh!"
The God screamed in anger and from his form, a storm of glistening particles went rampant in a wide area.
They burst indiscriminately, causing the dungeon to shake from the destruction.
Ego spread their body out to cover Evangeline from the particles, but they did significant damage to them in the process.
"Ahh!"
Null snapped back towards Ego and his breath quickened.
"You're gonna regret that!"
As the God noticed the effect harming Ego did to Null, he decided that there was only one way he could get out of the mess he made.
'It seems he has no way to defend those two from sudden attacks like that. I will have to use that to my advantage.'
He knew that there was likely only one chance to force Null's hand and so the God prepared to teleport once more to capture Ego and Evangeline and end this once and for all.
This was his territory, so things like teleportation and mind control were as simple as breathing to the God.
With one swift decision, the God teleported and left Null alone.
At this time, the rest of the crew had made it to the hole where they descended on Barter's Ruler's flying carpet.
"Look out!"
"He's behind you!"
"Quickly, Null, before he grabs them!"
"Kneel!"
They all screamed and Barter's Ruler even tried using his Universal Rule to suppress the God.
Without so much as a blink of an eye, Null propulsed himself backwards and as if he had eyes on the back of his head, he twisted his body and performed a kick that slammed into the God's chest, pushing him into the cold, hard wall of the dungeon.
"Bleh!"
"So, you wanna prey on those that can't defend themselves, is that it? What a pitiful God. All the power in the world and yet this is how you choose to act."
The God was only dealt superficial damage, but he was pushed further and further into a corner that he could not escape as his attacks had no effect on Null.
His body was as indestructible as the hardest metal, and it rattled the God's skull with each hit.
Were it not for a similarly powerful constitution, the God could have very well died from the harsh blows of Null's fists and leg.
"You guys came at the perfect time," Null ushered Ego and Evangeline to the rest, "Here be with Mr. Zolial for real this time.
His aura flared a honey white color at last as the two lovebirds connected in a warm hug.
"My dear look at you. You're as beautiful as the day I lost you," Edmond's gaze swept over her malnourished, taught skin and disheveled, blond hair.
"You on the other hand look terrifying," Evangeline laughed as she felt the dense muscles and rough skin he had and then the two devilish horns on his head.
Enjoying the two together at last, Null could not help but smile before it quickly faded as he turned to the God.
In an instant, Null sent a pink petal into his system causing the nauseating radiance of his body to die out as the powers he once had faded.
Then he threw him at the feet of the two lovers as promised.
His might may have proved insurmountable before Edmond and the crew, but against Null, even Gods would fall.
