The enraged Dragon Sage flew toward Ryoichi, a terrifying murderous aura surrounding him. His claw reached out to Ryoichi, and the space around Ryoichi melted from the heat condensed around the claws.
Ryoichi wasn't too shocked seeing this. He had already seen it peaking in the future and even if he hadn't, nothing short of immortality could impress him at this point.
Without thinking much, Ryoichi leaped a few seconds into the future, appearing some light-years away from the dragon. As he did, he left behind some nanobots to collect blood and flesh samples from the injured Dragon Sage.
Honestly, at this point, Ryoichi just wanted to leave and begin his research. He already had enough samples he needed no more. But he knew he had to kill the dragon, or at least scar it deeply enough that it wouldn't pursue him after he left the battlefield.
Ryoichi could feel the anger radiating from the Dragon Sage. He knew he had done something that would make the enraged dragon follow him to the end of the universe.
He had destroyed the dragon's home its lair. Its immense fury needed to be extinguished with an even stronger emotion probably the threat of death, something that could trigger its innate fear.
—Soul Style Jutsu: Soul Severing Sword—
A blue sword sparked to life in his hand. Ryoichi appraised the sword before a green sphere materialized in his other hand.
—Spacetime Jutsu: Domain—
The sphere began expanding at an alarming rate, quickly engulfing the approaching Dragon Sage.
The dragon didn't react to the Domain it continued flying toward Ryoichi, its mind blinded by rage.
Even then, it used Nature Energy to transform monstrous thunder into its claws, making them glow and enlarge.
By the time it reached Ryoichi, the sphere stopped expanding—and when it did, something shocking happened. Both Ryoichi and the Dragon Sage disappeared and reappeared at different locations, a soul blade running through the dragon's head while the lightning around its claws dissipated.
A heart-piercing cry escaped the Dragon Sage as it quickly retreated. Reason returned to its wrathful eyes as it gazed at Ryoichi with a pensive expression.
The Dragon Sage checked itself with its senses. What it found made its face twist with rage as it saw a large chunk of its soul had been cut off and was vanishing.
A flicker of fear surfaced in its heart before it was forcefully devoured by an even more dangerous emotion- pride. Wounded pride, at being afraid of an inferior being.
A primal roar left its throat "Rooaarrr-aghh!" but the roar turned into a startled cry.
A massive soul blade, accurately stabbed through its chest, appeared in its vision. It tried to move back, but the space around it had condensed.
"Don't lose focus when fighting an opponent of similar strength," Ryoichi spoke with a mocking tone, hitting the dragon where it hurt the most.
"Aghh!!!" The painful scream grew louder as Ryoichi twisted the blade. But suddenly, he stopped and retreated.
Just at that moment, a scorching flamethrower landed where Ryoichi had originally stood.
"Wryyyy!!!"
A piercing screeching sound came from a distance, defying the laws of physics.
Ryoichi turned toward the source of the sound and saw a burning bird flying toward him.
"Phoenix Sage…" he muttered before vanishing and appearing before the Dragon Sage, slashing at him.
Another chunk of soul was severed and disappeared. The dragon cried out again. It tried to defend itself, but to no avail its brute force was completely useless against Ryoichi's sophisticated techniques.
Honestly, the Dragon Sage was an easier opponent to deal with than the Kōritenshi Patriarch, as it relied purely on brute force and sheer energy.
"All things return to ashes!!!"
Suddenly, Ryoichi's Haki screamed as an overwhelming heat and blinding light enveloped him. He immediately teleported a great distance away and watched as the brightness consumed the area where the Sage Planet had once been.
When the light faded, Ryoichi saw both the Dragon Sage and the Phoenix Sage staring at him with murderous eyes.
For a minute, Ryoichi prepared for a 1v2—but the sages didn't pursue. Instead, they retreated.
Ryoichi stood dumbfounded for a moment before shrugging and starting his journey back to his planet.
"Well, that was easy…" he muttered, unaware that his words had been heard by the sharp ears of the Dragon Sage.
