Chapter 148 - Chapter 148 Ruri

"Hm? Another player triggered an easter egg? Let me see... Oho? This will be interesting." Kousuke muttered, a wicked smile surfaced on his face as he read the player's information floating in front of him. He hadn't expect anyone to fulfill the requirements since there is one definitive trait that only 2 individuals in reality had, and the player triggering wasn't one of them. In fact, this player is a student from the same class as Valerie's. They didn't particularly stood out either, just blended normally like what one would expect from a highschooler.

But this insignificant individual actually hides a rather unique bloodline, it was very diluted however, which makes them not so different from normal people. However, it's another story if said individual also played his game and unlock a racial class that can only be acquire by certain people. Like his sadistic girlfriend gaining additional options other than the basic races, such as Half-Fallen and Half-Devil. He initially thought Issei or Vali would unlock this race, after all, this race literally makes them a humanoid dragon. It's called a dragon hybrid race.

"I thought most of the dragons except the Dragon God already went died off or something, but this is surprising." He muttered, the corner of his lips curled up at the unexpected finding. And this rather unlucky individual is—

...

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The alarm ringing blare through the dimly lit room, stirring the figure under the blanket on the bed from the slumber. A slender hand emerged and slowly drifted toward the annoying alarm before tapping on them as silent returns.

Then the blanket were flipped aside as a young girl with a messy black hair stood up and walks groggily towards the bathroom. Her hand moved rather languidly, as if most of her were still in the dreamland. But just as she starts brushing her teeth in front of a mirror, something in the reflection brought clarity to the young girl.

"Hm? What... is this?"

What she saw through the mirror was the reflection of herself, except there are horns standing proudly from the top of her forehead. It feels rather warm to the touch, but the texture was quite strange. After the whole night gaming with her friend, Ruri suddenly grew actual horns on her head.

After a quick mouthwash at the sink, she immediately heads to the living room. The smells of delicious butter-fried bread entered her nostrils, Ruri involuntarily swallowed a mouthful of saliva. She saw her rather young-looking mother cooking something on the kitchen area. Her youthful appearance could definitely fool people into believing she's her older sister, but her actual age is somewhere in mid 30s.

"Mom, look at this!"

"What is it? If you're asking for another bread, then wait a bit." Umi muttered without looking back, her hand holding onto the spatula easily flipped the fried egg like an experienced cook. But Ruri insisted for her to turn around, so she did and saw the horns on her daughter's head.

"Yikes, what are those?"

"Don't say yikes! I woke up to this!"

"You wake up horny?" The lady of the house said amusedly, she seems particularly proud of her pun seeing as chuckle escaped her mouth. Ruri however didn't take the pun really well.

"Stop trying to dodge the question with the lame pun! You must knew something about this!"

"Well, it's the horns." Umi said after pondering for a while. Sensing the egg is almost cooked, she lower the heat before picking up a plate from the cabinet. A few minutes later, she placed the plate of fried eggs on the dining table and sat on the chair with the hot mug of coffee in hand.

"Nothing escape you, huh?" Ruri answered sarcastically, she sat her butt on the chair with her eyes involuntarily drawn to the butter-fried bread on the dining table. Her hand reached out and grabbed a slice before taking a bite. Her rampart emotion gradually calmed down.

"Well the obvious answer is that you're a half dragon." Her mother casually dropped the bomb like dropping a greeting at the neighbors. Ruri widened her eyes at her words, but she refused to believe it. After all, what even is dragon? The lizard-like fantasy creature in fiction? That dragon? "I honestly thought this day would never comes, but as expected, I should never trust your father for his words. It is as unreliable as the news."

"Wait wait! What does this has to do with my never-before-seen Dad?" Ruri asked, though she had a certain foreboding feeling she won't like where this were going. Yet she needs to know the truth.

"That's because your dad is a dragon." Umi muttered while munching on the fried egg.

"...What?"

"He's a Drago." She repeated without changing much of her expression.

"I don't need you to spell it in italian, I understand the first time! What I mean is, how?!"

"I don't know how else to tell you, but your Dad is not a human. Let's just say our encounter were rather unexpected." She explained with a mysterious smile.

Ruri feels like her worldview had been flipped upside down at the revelation. She was just an ordinary high schooler, she didn't have much friends but at least one stuck to her since secondary school. She thought that maybe her mom was pulling a prank on her, but she couldn't move the horns no matter how much she tried, as if it connected directly to her skull. Just as she was starting to question her perception of reality, the sound of water running snapped her back. She then saw her mom washing the dirty dishes, even her mug were already emptied.

"So are you still going to school?"

"Well, it's just horns..." Ruri answered hesitantly. It shouldn't be that big of a deal, especially when there was a certain student at her school that attracted attention whenever he goes. Not because he was insanely good looking or anything, but the fact that he always had a company with him and it was mostly beautiful flower. This senpai had becomes the object of envy for the rest of the boys at school.

But she will soon realize how naive her current thinking was. After all, in a world where dragons are nothing but seen as mythical creatures, which are also thought as mostly gone by now, yet her very existence basically defied that notion. It won't just be normal people that would be attract to her dragon heritage, but also the people from supernatural.
