Something fell on Alexander's shoulder and he felt as if his skin was being burnt off. He made an orb of light and saw they were seated on something. The object was floating onto a green bubbly liquid. The level of the liquid was rising and they would soon be drowned.
"We need to get out of here." Alexander frowned
Their surrounding started to move and the liquid splashed on them. It burnt through their clothes and scarred their skin.
"There's a way out." Lucielle finally said "Two."
"The one on top and the other?" Alexander asked
Lucielle pointed into the liquid and Alexander frowned at the thought of what to do.
"Can you tell where we are?" Alexander asked
Lucielle's eyes widened, "We're in something. It's underneath the forest."
"Then...we can split its belly open," Alexander said
Lucielle nodded. The kids' eyes turned green, their veins bulged out and their canines sharpened. Entities all over the forest and the world stopped in their tracks.
"They're alive..."
"They're back."
The forest above made slight tumors as two trees started to move in the same direction. The number of trees increased as time went by. No one noticed these slight occurrences except Alexandra and she jumped out the window.
The dog followed after her and they found the trees were in a circle. Their roots came out of the soil, merged in the center, and turned into a blade.
CRASH
The blade dug into the soil and cracks formed everywhere. Alexandra's eyes turned green and the soil she stood on stayed intact. She was shocked as a large mole-like creature was pulled out of the soil.
The blade was its body and pulled the creature apart by unmerging its roots. Alexander and Lucielle came out coughing violently.
"Brother?" Alexandra exclaimed
"Sister?" Alexander coughed
All of them had green glowing eyes and his sister burst out laughing.
"You got eaten, hahaha." Alexandra laughed "That's the most interesting mode of transport ever, hahaha."
"Shut up." Alexander sighed "Lucielle, this idiot is my twin sister, Alexandra."
"So what are you up to?" Alexandra asked
"We're looking into mum's death and Lucielle's parents' deaths," Alexander told
Alexandra smiled, "I was doing that too. Let's work together then."
"So maybe stop running away from home and school?" Alexander smiled
Callum appeared with a change of clothes. The twins helped Lucielle dress up and bundled her up in a jacket. After holding Lucielle's hand, Alexandra and Alexander looked around.
Because of the mini tumors, the kids caused, Rafael was freed from whatever almost killed him. He sat up holding his neck and taking deep breaths. After pacifying Sylvia, he got up and walked in a direction of one of the people who went in.
He saw Alexander, Alexandra, and Lucielle walk toward the shed he wanted to go into. He stayed outside near the wooden wall and suddenly a dagger shot out the window. Blood trailed down the cut on his cheek.
"WOOF"
"Who's there?" Alexander's voice said
Alexandra smiled, "Let's send out another dagger?"
"No. I'm coming in." Rafael sighed
"Mr. Rafael?" Lucielle reacted having remembered his voice
When he entered he saw a giant map of Silentvile with dots on them. Rafael realized the dots were marking all the houses that had recorded deaths and missing people.
"What is going on in this town?" Rafael thought
As the kids rampaged through the cabin, he was brought out of his thoughts. Rafael let out a sigh.
" Hey, isn't this your school, Alex?" Alexandra asked holding up a picture
Alexander stared at the picture, "No. It looks older than how the school looks now."
"Um...the owner is coming back," Lucielle warned
The dog started to growl. Rafael grabbed a lot of pictures, and papers and stuffed them in his pockets. He picked up the twins, each held tightly in one arm and Lucielle was on his back holding his neck.
"Run forward. Alex's window is that way." Alexandra informed
Alexander turned around and saw flames. "RUN!!"
The twins' eyes glowed and the nearby trees' branches pulled on the cabin to make a passage. The fire had a mind of its own and devoured everything in its sight. They saw the fire turn towards them.
"There's no way." they thought
The fire started to chase after them as it spread sideways making a forest fire. Lucielle's eyes glowed and a large drop of water appeared on top of them.
"Jump!" Alexandra instructed
Rafael just did as he was told and landed on a tree root. The large drop of water sprayed them and behind them like a fire hydrant. Rafael noticed the flames that went sideways had overtaken them and had formed a ring of fire.
"Some smartass is controlling this fire..." Rafael frowned
The twins controlled the trees making a staircase of tree roots. Lucielle's water prevents the fire from making any advancements.
"Just a little more kids!!" Rafael yelled noticing their deteriorating condition
Rafael jumped, pulled the kids closer, and rolled out of the town. He quickly got up and entered through the open window he saw. The group held their breath, noticed the dog beside them with a wagging tail and she gave a low bark.
Rafael patted its head, ".....Good girl."
The tension in their bodies was finally released thanks to the dog's message.
" What should we name her?" Alexandra asked
Rafael sighed, " You look like a Delmira."
"Do you like that name? Delmira." Alexander smiled
"WOOF!" she barked
"It's dangerous kids so I think you should stop your little mystery," Rafael said with a serious expression
The kids looked at the man and remembered what just happened.
Alexander answered, "No. We won't, you need us."
Rafael let out a sigh, "Thank goodness. I thought you were going to agree with me."
"Then I have another clue," Alexandra announced with a puffed chest
She took the knife from Alexander's bed and cut a nearby painting. They felt she was doing stress-relieving for a moment before telling them the clue. Their eyes widen as they found a passage behind it.
"Well, would you look at that?" Rafael grinned "I guess, they were literally watching us."
At the burnt cabin
"Someone got in. They also killed my pet." a voice frowned
The nearby person laughed, "Well whatever. What can they do, it's almost over."
