Eugene: Are you ok?
Rose: Y... yes, you?
Eugene: I'm fine.
Rose: What's happening, Eugene? Were those gunshots?
Eugene: Yes. We are currently surrounded.
Eugene managed to get them to his office as the gunshots settled down.
Rose: Huh? What do you mean by surrounded?
Eugene: Look.
Eugene pointed to his screen. There were approximately 20 armed men visible through the cameras.
Rose: Woahhhh...
Eugene: Are you scared?
Rose: Should I be?
Eugene let out a chuckle amused at her boldness.
Eugene: You never cease to amaze me.
We can't stay here for long.
Here, change into this.
He held out a top, a pair of trousers and a pair of sneakers for her to wear, which were much more comfortable than the gown and heels she was wearing. He changed his clothes as well, adding a cap and black shades to the ensemble.
Rose: I'm done.
Eugene: Wait
He stepped closer and unpinned her hair letting it fall on her. He then placed the cap on her and fixed the black shades.
Eugene: There. Beautiful.
Rose couldn't help but blush with his gestures. She had no idea he was this sweet.
Rose couldn't understand anything that was happening. Why were those men there? Why did they try to kill them?
She wanted to ask all these but the timing was off and right now the main thing was to survive.
She was just going to trust this man in front of her. Her man.
The thought alone brought a smile to her face.
Eugene: It's time to run Rose. I promise nothing will happen to you. Just trust me ok.
Rose: I trust you.
Eugene :Good. Now come.
Eugene held her wrists and lead her to his book shelf.
Rose looked at him in confusion anticipating what he was going to do next.
Eugene returned the look with a smirk on his face almost like he was about to show off.
He pulled a large green book out of the shelf and a matryshca doll appeared.
Rose was in shock. It looked exactly like the one she had seem at the massion.
Rose: [What does this mean?]
Rose didn't have time to question him as the shelf rolled to the side revealing a stir case that lead down.
Rose was no longer surprised. There was something fishy.
Rose: [Do those two know each other by any chance?]
Eugene: Let's go.
As they descended the stirs the shelf rolled back locking in place with the green book returning to it possible like it was never moved in the first place.
Just then the men barged into the office.
Men: Boss, there's no one here either.
Leader: Shit!
