Polly Sutton didn't say much more and continued watching her son playing with Legos below.
The housekeeper saw this and didn't ask further, taking the bowl and leaving.
Polly watched for a while, and only when she was sure her son was fine did she turn back. Victor Parker was still on the phone. Mostly the other person was talking, and he only said a few words occasionally, but the matter seemed very serious; his brow was continuously furrowed.
Polly sat on the edge of the bed, knowing well that Victor was very busy, and the time he could manage to come here was squeezed out.
When Victor turned around after finishing the call, Polly was already lying in bed. He came over and placed his hands beside her, hovering above as he looked at her, "What's wrong, so deep in thought."
"Why didn't your dad react? I thought he would at least scold me a bit." Polly reached up to wrap her arms around Victor's neck. "Quiet, it's too quiet."
