As the party travelled through the forest to their destination, Kiyoshi and Suki lead them as a dead and dreadful silence filled the forest. Even the birds and creatures of the forest remained quiet as if they knew seriousness that took over the atmosphere. To break the silence Suki turn to Kiyoshi and as asked him what he knew about the first shrine maiden May. "Nothing." Kiyoshi remarked as he turned to Suki with a smile on his face. Suki responded with a gently asking him if he wanted to here the story. Kiyoshi with some excitement quickly agreed and Suki began telling the tale of the first Shrine Maiden.
A thousand years ago in a quiet village leave a young teenage girl name May. Who lived a peace live with her mother , father and five younger brothers ages two to 7 year of age. But soon her peaceful live will be turn upside down. When may was just fourteen years old the demonic conversion event happen causing a portal to hell to open right outside her village causing the deaths of her parents. Now orphaned with the responsibility to take of five children in a world torn but endless war and death. What was May to do she found herself doing the oldest job in the world to provide for her and her young brothers. She became a lady of the night. As not even the threat of hell consuming the earth could stop some men from seeking that certain pleasure. For two years as the world fall apart May went out night after night. One night a as walked the ominous streets looking for clients a battle broke out between demons and soldiers fighting for mankind.
But it was clear mankind was not ready for this invasion their forces quickly wipe out till there was only one man left. The man injured saw May and quickly ran towards her for safety as the horde of demons chased him. He hide behind May as the demons closed in, but for some reason May wasn't scared nor was she ready to die. She stood her ground preparing to fight off the horde the took minutes to wipe out trained men. What could she do in the face of such pure destruction. As prepared herself for battle a beam of light blasted from the heavens onto the horde of demons destroying them instantly. In shock May stood firm one her arms stretched out to protect the injured man. In the beam of light the goddess Fertilia stood before her congratulating on her brave and asking her to become her campion for mankind.
May stood in awe that the goddess Fertilia stood before her . She the goddess why her as she was merely a lady of the night. The goddess walked over her and place her hand on her hand and remarked " You may be a lady of the night in order to survive and protect your siblings and even with your status as a lady of the night you risk your life to protect this man. If that doesnt make you worthy of being my campion then nothing else." Fertilia then bestowed her power on to May and thus the first shrine maiden was born.
Soon May with the other two trinity saviors Jacob woodheart and the first queen of the elder mages took to the battlefield and with their power turn the tide of battle in the favor of humanity. Later she and Jacob created the spear of sokka in honor of her late father. And as May grew old and her death closing in she decided to pass her powers to a young girl in hopes that if evil arises again that it will have someone there to provide mankind.
With her story ended Suki looked up in the sky with a soft smile across her face. Kiyoshi still curious asked Suki how she become the shrine maiden. Suki turned to Kiyoshi her soft smile vanished and in its place a cold dead look before answering. " I was taken in by the pervious maiden lady Margert when my parents where killed in battle during the war for the dragon isles. A dead silence filled the air once more , as Kiyoshi face turned cold and lifeless. "Are you ok?" Suki asked snapping Kiyoshi back to life. "Yes , sorry i was lost in thought." Kiyoshi replied
Suki continued by adding that lady Margert found her crying after her parents death and took her in and carried her to the northern light temple where I remained with her and the abbot until her sudden death three months ago.
As the two continued talking, the party existed the forest and arrived in an open field with forest on right of the field and hill side on the ride. Soon there conversation was cut short as an evil presence was felt throughout the land. As both Kiyoshi and Suki armed themselves for battle hoodies figures in black jumped out the forest armed with swords. "Cultist" one of a the monks shouted as the once peaceful journey has now turned into a battlefield. The Cultist soon swarmed the land like bees closing in on the voyage party to attack. Soon the place became a battlefield as weapons clash and but cultists and monks fight to eliminated the other. As both Kiyoshi and Suki rush into battle, they both paused as a loud could be heard from the other side of the land. the fighting paused as everyone's attention turned to the rocky hillside. from the distant a large group appeared over the hills. Samurai someone shouted. But these samurai where different black armor with twisted faces on them. their eyes black voided of light and life. There skins grey and stone like. Only one stood out, the one in the front whose armor was red like blood, his eyes a sickening yellow as rode upon a stone like horse with a rams horn in his hand. He looked down on everyone and with no words descended upon the battlefield with rage and blind furry as the most one hundred other undead samurai following behind. Within seconds the battlefield erupted into chaos. Blood and rage filled the as both Cultist and Monks fall victim to the violence.
