Chapter 11 - His Cursed Past (L)

"Don't you remember those times? Don't you want to go back to when life was just so simple? That's what I have wanted my whole life... to be with my parents again... but sadly that is impossible... for the both of us." She explained to him. "Stop... stop trying to get me to feel sympathy for you... after everything you have done... you really think that I'll care about you?" He asked. "I guess not... but in the state I am now... we might as well get to know each other as much as possible... maybe you'll make me feel bad for my actions... though I highly doubt it." She suggested whilst shrugging. "Well... I have nothing better to do... so I might as well try my best to make you feel bad... so I guess I'll tell you what my life was like." He replied. "Alright then... go ahead." She told him.

"My life was probably like anyone else's... I had a good family... no siblings though... and even though we didn't have that much money, we were surviving. On weekends, I was home alone as my parents went away to try and earn more money... and occasionally, my parent's friend Cole came over to the house to make sure I was doing fine... he was a nice guy." He explained. "Oh... Cole... I think I knew him... he was quite friendly." She replied. "One weekend day... my parents went out to earn more money... I was just sitting in my room... before I heard it... I heard an explosion and then screams following shortly afterwards... I looked outside... and all I could see was people running out of the city." He continued whilst ignoring her.

"Soon after, I heard the front door open... I ran out of my room to see Cole running towards me... he grabbed my arm and we started running with the rest of the people. I looked back occasionally... only to see buildings engulfed in dark red flames... and one time when I looked back, I saw a giant red eye in the sky staring at me... it shot a flame in the direction of the crowd of people and Cole pulled me into an alleyway and we kept running... through all of the rubble... past all of the bodies." He said as tears started coming from his eyes and the lack of gravity made them float slowly away from him. "Then...then we escaped the city... we hid in the nearby woods before we stopped running... but when we looked back, there was no city... it was all just rubble... it seemed that no one but us survived. Eventually, we decided to go back to the city once we thought that whatever had destroyed it had left... we tried to find anything useful or perhaps any survivors... I ended up finding a strange looking gem that I thought we'd be able to sell if we came across another place to live... but then... we saw it... we thought it had left the rubble of the city but it came back... it probably sensed our presence... it was about to finish me off before... the gem started glowing... and the next thing I knew was that I was with Cole in a part of the land we hadn't seen before." He continued in between sobs.

He then started smiling. "That's when I met her... Chara... I realise from what you have told me that Chara exists in almost all of the universes that I see around me... but this one was special to me. She told me that she lived in the same city as me... in fact she was out hunting on the day of the attack... that's how she survived... but... we had to break the news to her... we could still see the city from where we were stood... but just barely. She surprisingly didn't really seem to care when we told her... she said that she had no friends there, she had a lot of problems with her neighbours and her family certainly didn't help... in fact she always wanted to have no where to go back to... she said that she just wanted to explore the world." He explained with a sigh. "Oh... so that's who that girl was? I thought she was your girlfriend or something." She responded. He looked at her, frustrated. "She was my girlfriend... in the time I got to know her, we just started liking each other like that... that was... until you... until... you know what you did. I knew her for a few years in that underground home we built... all three of us... but then Cole went out one day and he didn't return... we could survive by ourselves though... we were just worried for him. Then this guy showed up wearing a ninja outfit... he tried to kill us... we escaped and... he eventually found our home and... well we fought him off and... then you came along." He said, constantly getting faster until he said the last part.

"You...you shot brimstone fire at her... it burned her clothes and she couldn't put it out in time... you killed her... you killed her!" He yelled as tears starting to well up in his eyes again. "Yes... that is not a kill I am proud of I'll admit... but look at you now... you've discovered new powers!" She replied. "I don't give a damn about the new powers that I have obtained! You took everything I had away from me! Everything in my life was going fine until you came along! You couldn't have left me well enough alone could you? You just had to ruin the lives of others... and now look at you... I don't know what happened to you but all of that energy that came out of the orb just after she died seems to have destroyed that universe along with any chance I had of having a stable life! Why couldn't you have just stopped where you were?" He shouted. "Oh suck it up! My entire family died and then all I had was myself... and the one person I went to for help just made things worse. You have not been through hell and back like I have so just deal with it!" She responded. "Why do I deserve this? Why do I have to spend an eternity with you constantly annoying me... why me?" He asked rhetorically. "Fine... I'll tell you... I did what I did because of you... you made me do this! Frankly... you didn't deserve it... but the results in the end are going to be way better." She replied. "Just leave me alone... I don't know what you mean by "I made you do this" but honestly... I don't care... just leave me alone. "He demanded as the urge to throw the orb away was almost enough to make him do it. "What was that? I never said that you made me do this! I only-" She was saying before He shot her a look that seemed to harm Her soul just from Her looking back at Him. She sighed... and the two of them didn't talk again until the ruler of dreams had found them.

"What do you mean by "He's a Destroyer?" I've known Lukas for nearly all of my life and he has never mentioned wanting to do something like that." "I suppose he wouldn't... he wouldn't want anyone to tell people about it so it was best for him to not let anyone know." "He would never do that." "Niko just accept the fact that Lukas is a Destroyer... honestly I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't considered joining The Destroyers just to getaway from this war." "Wait... aren't all of The Destroyers dead? How is Lukas going to join The Destroyers if they're all dead?" "Believe me... they are alive. They're hiding in the Anti-Void... and their plan is to wait out this war and then strike whenever Perfection is most vulnerable so they can all get what they want." "How do you know all of this Michael?" "There's a lot you don't know about me... now... I say that we should go out and scout the area and see which parts of Perfection's army we can attack safely... so... go ahead everyone... Raptors... why aren't you leaving? Why are you looking at me like that?"
