Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 - Weird Forest.

Diana looked at the six rays of darkness that coalesced into one huge ray, that sprang towards her. The plants she planted dissappeared with the house. She luckily thanked herself for saving her flowers. All that hard work cannot go down the drain.

Diana just looked towards the slash of ray with a condescending smile. The ray passed threw her body. Her body disintegrated. Crows emerged from her body and they flew away, vanishing upon contact of the clouds. That was her doppelganger she created with a powerful spell, which stalled for valuable time.

[TN : Doppelganger is a humanoid clone, but in this context it's a clone formed with Magic.]

She was already long gone. Her real body still had a serious look, but she was happy that she successfully escaped and fooled the evil paragons of the Crimson Blood. She long ago escaped to another faraway kingdom, hiding along the mountainous paths.

"Damn it! She already escaped." One of the shadows looked angrily at the dissappearing crows.

The six shadows then dissappeared, vanishing within the thin air.

The atmosphere within the valley lightened up, although dilapidated by the darkness, it will slowly recover with time to come.

Whilst that happened, Hale, Dia and Eggy appeared in a weird forest. It was really unexpected because each of them appeared separately in different locations of the forest.

Hale looked at the tree he landed by. Such an unreasonable spatial formation, he thought. The forest was huge with gigantic trees that had bark that was thick and sturdy. Green vines wrapped around the trees. The trees had long roots that split the soil.

Under the canopy of the trees was Hale, who was shouting for Dia and Eggy. The thick grass and bushy shrubs were almost everywhere. The overgrowth of the natural vegetation crushed the soil beneath.

In the forest you could hear the sounds of different creatures. The sky vaguely popped out, as the canopy of trees painted the sky completely. The leaves of the trees were varying in huge sizes.

Hale was shouting for Dia and Eggy. His voice lost within the wilderness of the forest, not even his echo remained.

Dia was also shouting for Hale and Eggy. She was really trying her best to shout their names. She would stop every ten seconds of shouting, to hear any replies, but she could only hear the varying screeches of multiple creatures. Which made her shiver.

Eggy landed on a path that was at the edge of the forest. She looked dazed and began to walk out of the forest. She noticed that Dia and Hale was nowhere to be found.

She closed her eyes and began to sense for the special connection between herself and Hale. She found it, which she exclaimed inwardly with excitement. She smiled cutely and then vanished within the thick shrubs of the forest.

Hale walking along a path which were made by the many creatures of the forest. Stuck on the soil were monstrous foot prints. The claw marks penetrated the ground leaving the ground filled with holes and slashes. Hale was scared to walk forward, but he had to find Eggy and Dia.

Hale came to a wide clearing. Big mushrooms with various colors, of brown and red, leeched upon the ground and trees.

In the clearing was a grey wolf, eating the dead body of it's prey, a blue fanged monkey. The wolf was a red-tier beast, that had a very strong physique. Normal knives and weapons will not be able to penetrate it's tough hide.

And the control over the Mana was as strong as a Red-Cloak Mage. It could enhance its senses and sight using Mana, and can also strengthen it's bite and grip, shielding it's claws with a shadow of Mana. It's fur was long and blood soaked the edges of it's mouth which it used to tear apart the carcass.

Hale stumbled upon the wolf which was busy gulfing down it's food. The wolf noticed Hale was approaching. It bared a low growl and took a fierce hunting stance. It prowled with it's head lowered. It was protecting it's food. It felt threatened as it assumed that something wants to steal from it.

The competition between beasts is fierce, they will fight untill they die, for a mate or for a habitat to raise their young. They kill for resources as it is limited, as the strong prey upon the weak. Those beasts that cannot survive are in the bellies of those that survived.
