Cherreads

Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 - Unforeseen trouble.

Diana looked like she was more concerned about something else other than Eggy. If she did not see wrong than what she saw was definitely big trouble.

Eggy just stared at them weirdly from time-to-time, not listening to their conversation and not replying at all. She did not know what they were conversing about, as she herself was not interested in that.

Eggy was busy flipping through the many Mage and spell books that Dia brought over. She was entranced by magic but not entirely obsessed. She was just interested to find something she declared as 'fun'. She noticed that magic can be very 'fun'.

She flipped through the pages very rapidly, not batting a blink or a sneeze, that could possibly disturb her. She memorized half the shelf of books in a couple of minutes and was still continuing, not regarding anything that disrupts her concentration.

Diana was aghast at the fact that Eggy was reading so fast. She would not stop no matter who called her.

"So the pet finally hatched. Only Martha knows what this girl is. Oh well, their training is not enough. I have to use the spatial matrix to send them away. This place has become unsafe since they have already found us. I thought hiding here was enough. This mountain was always secluded but not entirely invisible." Diana sighed, filled with regret as she was thinking about something. Her face displaying her worried tiredness.

"Alas the portal can only be used by three people. Since I do not have enough spatial crystals which means I have to stay behind. I will have to send them to that place. Hope they will be safe there." Diana said to herself. She was not the strongest in this world but somethings were akin to happen, even if she did nothing. Diana already sensed the intruders in the closest cities. They were coming for them and extremely quickly.

"Dia, Hale and Eggy huddle up. We have something extremely important to discuss." Diana declared with a serious face. Even Dia was alarmed by her mother's seriousness, as this was the first time they saw her this serious.

Diana setted up a golden formation on the ground, outside the house. The formation was inscribed with many ancient words and formulas. Dia recognized the ancient Mage language that Diana was casting. This was a spatial type formation used for teleporting objects and people to very far places.

"Mother, where are we going?" Dia asked, as she was helping her mother place the spatial crystals and Mana crystals on the formation, that have a specified holder to carry said crystal. As soon as the crystals entered the formation, they emitted a strange light.

"Not me, but you three are going." Diana said sternly.

Hale looked aghast, "Mother you are not coming with us? Where are we going anyways? I don't want to leave you mother!!"

"The king was already very kind enough to let us stay in his kingdom. 'They' already found out, that we live here. Even the king does not want to get involved with them. He owes me nothing now. I once helped him and he repaid me by letting us stay here. You have to leave this kingdom as soon as possible because it has become dangerous. I don't want to run, but I care for you all too much. Don't ask so much questions. The less you know, the better." Diana said sternly.

"Mother, I'm not leaving you. I want to go where you go. Please let me go with you! I'll help you." Dia said with tears forming at her eyes. Even though Eggy did not know what was happening but the tense atmosphere made her finish the last book she was holding, rapidly. Then she looked up with confusion trying to perceive what was going on.

"It's to dangerous to stay with me. You have to go now!" Diana said, as she chanted in some unknown magical language. The formation glowed brightly. The Mana in the mountain was sucked into the formation, powering it up. The formation emitted more brightness with a strong golden hue.

A portal formed. It was like a circular gate that ripped the space apart. When it entirely formed, Diana enchanted in an another mysterious language and the spatial crystals melted into the formation empowering the spatial portal. "The portal will last a bit longer like this." Diana said to herself in relief that her children will leave safely.
