As Hale was searching for a 'cool' treasure, he saw a black egg. He was really curious now.
"What is this egg?" He held the egg up and looked at Martha, demanding for answers.
"It's a spiritual egg that will lay any random pet, which can help the owner in battles or traveling. It can be used as a mount, it is really valuable. For it to hatch, you have to feed it some Qi everyday." Martha explained what the egg is.
"What type of pet, can it hatch?" Hale asked.
"I don't know, but I do know that it can be a legendary pet, which is the Sovereign Falcon or the Sovereign Owl or it can be a normal pet. Normal pets can range from your typical household pets, such as dogs or cats. It depends on how good your luck is and how pure your Qi is. I think you could summon one of those legendary beasts with this egg or maybe those supreme ones." Martha explained carefully to him.
Hale's eyes was shining. He wanted the egg. Imagining himself on top of a huge falcon or owl, how cool would that be.
If his pet has the ability to fly, he will ride it above the clouds. Totally amazing, he thought. He also imagined himself in battle, as his pet buddy will always have his back.
"Damn... I must have the egg. Please... Aunt Martha can I have the egg? Please!" Hale was starting to beg. Martha told Hale to call her 'Aunt Martha', as Diana and her are like sisters. So he decided to anyways.
Seeing his cute pleading look, how could Martha reject him. She gave him the egg to keep and told him that she will deliver the book to him later, as the book was big and heavy. Hale left the cave and he was really happy.
He obviously thanked Martha dearly for her teachings and most importantly for the book and egg. He couldn't wait for it to hatch, because as he was walking, he was already feeding his Qi to the egg.
Hale was walking in the fields of the grassy plain. He was hugging the egg and holding it carefully like carrying his first child.
Hale was still dazing about his spirit pet, until he heard footsteps coming towards him. He looked away from the egg and saw Dia's angry face.
"Where was you? I was looking for you everywhere. What are you holding in your hand?" Dia asked him a bunch of questions expecting some good answers, otherwise he will get a good beating.
"I was with Aunt Martha, and this is my first child." Hale said while perking up his chest.
"Whose Aunt Martha? And when did you become a chicken?" Dia asked in her casual-commanding tone.
"Aunt Martha said she will visit later. Haha you have no idea whose Aunt Martha. You will definitely receive a shock. Aunt Martha gave me this egg. It's a spirit pet and it's mine. Haha...". Hale was laughing at her as he thought that she was definitely jealous.
"Fool I found all the treasures why would I be jealous?" Dia retorted at his words.
"I don't care. Mother said I can choose two treasures so we even. Haha..." Hale was caressing the egg while he looked at his sister contemptuously.
Dia rolled her eyes at him. She was definitely going to give him the worst treasures of her find.
They both walked together to the house. Dia was annoyed at Hale because he kept appraising the egg.
He even gave a name to the black egg, calling it 'Eggy'.
Dia looked at him and wanted to hit him hard so he could stop his terrible ways. But decided against it as her mother had just woken up and was receiving them.
"Oh you two are finally back. Did you find the treasures?" Diana asked them, while she received the herbs basket from Dia, which earned Dia a kiss. Dia was happy after that. Hale was asking himself, 'Where's my kiss?'. As he felt sad but then Diana kissed him to, as she could see his saddened look.
Hale showed Diana the egg he received. "Mother meet Eggy, Eggy meet our Mother." He did the introductions and made Eggy nod in a greeting manner with his hands.
