Kissing her, "Mom, that's a great idea, can I invite a few friends over?"
"Yes!"
"Great," giving her Torren and Mr MacCarty's name, "Mom, when you call them, tell them Uncle Robert insisted they be here, and will you tell Mitch to be here too."
"I will, but Joseph, what is going on?"
"Mom, I am getting late, but I should be home early enough for dinner, and when Shawney comes down for breakfast, don't say anything concerning this evening's dinner, please."
Hurrying out before his mom starts badgering him, 'she might want me to run some errands, which might just ruin his plan.' Calling Mitch to join him for lunch, then went and bought Shawney a beautiful dress, not too fancy but beautiful.
Having lunch with Mitch, we discuss the dinner and our plans.
Sitting in his van, Train thought, 'I am so tired, but Mrs Louise said that Robert's sister insisted on my being there, because Robert doesn't like going to dinners, and he will have company.
Also, the invitation is for Torren. If I tell him, he might not want to go because it is at Joseph's home. And he hasn't been attending his clinic appointment lately. "Dad, where are we going to dinner?"
Observing his hesitation, Torren wondered for a moment. 'Why is Dad not telling me? ' Then he said, "Mrs Louise said it's Robert's sister."
"Dad, do you mean at Doctor Joseph's home?"
"I believe so, son."
"But Dad, I don't want to go, I missed a few of my appointments, and he might be angry with me."
"Torren, try to relax and think about it. If he is angry with you, why would he invite us?"
Train became concerned the moment Torren became restless and started shifting in his seat"Dad, I am sorry, but I don't feel like going to dinner."
"Look, when we reach, and you are not comfortable, we will leave early. I am a bit tired myself. I am going just because of Robert.
Torren notices him check the address to make sure, "Look, this is the address, 101 Kate Street."
Driving into the yard, Train notices Robert and Paula standing outside their vehicle. Mitch came out not too long after. "It looks as though Robert's has now arrived, and Mitch is with them; you will have company."
"Train, I am so glad you could make it." Robert hurried to me and shook hands.
At that moment, this beautiful woman came out of the huge villa. She embraced Robert, then Paula.
She was smiling and looked friendly as she reached across to us and shook my hand, "I am Ruby, Robert's sister. You must be my brother's friend, Mr MacCarty? I am glad we finally met, and thank you for accepting my last-minute invitation. My brother hates dinners, so I thought if you were here, he would be more relaxed."
Then she reaches out her hand towards Torren, "And you must be Torren? My son speaks very highly of you."
Torren, responding to Joseph's mom's sweet voice, said, "Yes, I am, and thanks for the invite."
"I know you and Mitch are friends, and my Joseph will have company. He has just returned and is tired, so give him some time; he will be down in a bit. Now that's enough talk, let's go in.
When Mitch came and hugged her, saying to her, "Thank you, Aunty, for thinking about me, and Nellie sends her love. Did I hear grandpa and grandma came to visit?"
"Yes, and they brought a friend along with them."
As we were led through the door to what seemed to be the living room. Torren admired the decor.
Thinking this is magnificent, they all took a seat when Joseph's mom asked what drink we would have.
A few minutes later, we were all holding a glass after being served.
Torren observed that they all sat with a partner talking, but he could not help himself as he admired how beautiful the house looked; it was just magnificent.
The inside was painted in cream, and the valances are magnificent; the chandelier was enormous, making the living room cosy. That feeling gave me a sense of relaxation.
Torren glanced at his dad, who seemed quite comfortable sitting with Mr Robert and Joseph. Even the tiredness on his face earlier was gone, and he was so engrossed with the topic they were heavily discussing.
While Mitch, his Mom, and Joseph's mom were talking with his grandparents.
Torren knew he wasn't in any mood to talk, but he didn't want to steal his dad's enjoyment, so he sat on a corner sofa, away from everyone, happy to be alone.
Out of the blue, Torren felt his head spinning. Unable to understand why that was happening. He rocked back, and he closed his eyes to block out the voices and thoughts that had jumbled up in his head.
Recently, it has been quite puzzling, but my experience of dizziness has been such that I am unable to explain it. All I want now is for this ill feeling to go away and have some peace. But this dizzy feeling only happens when I think about Shawney. Oh Lord, why is that? But how am I going to stop my mind from thinking all those crazy thoughts?'
Torren tried to shift his thoughts. Forcing his attention to the conversation in the living room. As time goes by, nothing seems to work. The voices in my head kept bombarding me more frequently, just as when I had returned from the hospital.
At that moment, a fresh revelation hit him. 'Shawney was the reason for my sanity. This last week, since being separated from her, nothing I tried or did seemed to help control the voices in my head.'
