JOSEPH MADE A PLAN
Knowing the kind-hearted person she is, and the torment she was experiencing in her heart. Joseph tried to lighten the burden. "Then, my girl, they might just understand exactly what you face every day, because of their constant taunting, you had to leave your home. So let them taste a little of your medicine that you have been drinking for the last three years."
"You are right, Joseph, in a few months I will return home and build them a house."
Shaking her on the shoulder, "Are you crazy? After all the misery they put you through, you still want to help them? Shawney, they don't deserve anything, much less you building them a house, and tell me where you will get the money to build them a house?"
"I have a little stash away; it should be enough to build them a small one."
"So why do you live on the street, if you have money?"
"I don't live on the street, for a moment I thought before you came and almost shook the life out of me. Joseph, I thought I was in heaven in the mansion God promised me."
"God has a mansion for you?"
"Yes, Jesus says I go to prepare a place for you, and if He goes, He will come again, He said in His Father's house have many mansions."
"So, you thought you were dead?"
Seeing how he was looking at her with this frown, as though surprised. Unable to control her chuckling, but she turned her face, saying, "No, but I thought I was dreaming and didn't want to wake up. I was just taking in the beauty, but there you were, upsetting my beautiful dream."
"Hello, you weren't dreaming, but you could make your dream into reality, all you have to do is just say yes?"
"And just tell me, what do I have to do? And why do I have to say yes?"
"Well, that's easy to deal with, just say yes to marrying me, and all this will be yours."
"Joseph, we are family. I cannot marry you, but this was nice for the moment, and we are good friends, so don't spoil that."
"You and I are friends, but it could be more, but the family part we are not, you and Mitch are related, not I, Shawney?"
"Oh, Joseph, I am sorry, but I consider you just like a brother." Seeing him become angry, "Joseph, please understand, I am sorry.
I didn't know, but I like Torren a lot, as you see, when I came to San Francisco, it was mainly to see Torren."
"Your meeting was not coincidental?"
"No, when his father met me in my village, he had proposed to me in Chicago for his Son, he told me what had happened to Torren. I had no plans coming to San Francisco, but hearing about his family, it piqued my interest, and curiosity got the better of me, and I wanted to see his family.
I waited until he left, then took a flight here. I didn't want to meet Torren through his Father's introduction, so I came to the hospital.
You see, I had many offers before, but they all wanted what I had; but Torren's Dad was given the inheritance of the Son. They didn't want what I had, although he had seen what I had."
"Okay, I got that, but stop for just one moment, and explain what it is you have that they all wanted?"
"Oh, not much, you see, when my Mom died, I was only a baby, but she had a small property, and I inherited it, that's all.
But Mr MacCarty said his property wasn't as big as mine, I didn't know he was lying to me, but my interest was piqued as I said, and I came, you know the rest."
"Shawney, are you saying you love Torren?"
"I don't know about love, Joseph, but I like being with him; we enjoy each other's company, and when we are apart, I miss him very much. Joseph, Torren makes me feel so special.
If all those things could be considered as love, then I guess I am in love with him, but when they hear what I did to my family. Oh, Joseph, they might think I will do the same to their family. I cannot face them; it hurts too much."
Wiping the tears with his kerchief, thinking, 'Mitch was right, they love each other, but the circumstances have driven them apart.
When I had spoken to Torren about her, he said almost the same thing, but his main concerns were for his family and children.
"You don't have to worry, as you know, Mom and Dad wanted to meet you, so you are here, and you might as well stay for a few days before you move on."
"Okay, Joseph, but on one condition, that is, we are friends."
"Okay, only as friends, so stop worrying and try to get some rest."
"Deal!"
"Then I will see you later and enjoy your mansion at least a few more days."
Hearing her laugh fills his heart with joy, "Yeah, later and Joseph thanks, and do have a blessed day."
"I will."
Running down the stairs. Joseph thought, 'This is a good opportunity to help them reunite. I must call Mitch; those two need a slight push. Torren had neglected his treatment, and if he stayed away any longer, things might not be good.
I have worked hard to get him this far, and I will not let my feelings for Shawney hinder his recovery. Torren being with Shawney is medicine itself. "Joseph, where are you off to, Son?"
"Mom, I have a few things to attend to."
"I was thinking since your grandparents are here, we could have a small dinner?
