Chapter 73 - THE EVICTION NOTICE

"Young lady, this jewellery is very costly."

"Look, Sir, if you don't want to buy it, I can go elsewhere, as you see it is not stolen, I have the receipts."

"I don't have sufficient cash to purchase it, but if I get some time, I could raise the money."

"How much time do you need?"

"Maybe a few months."

"Okay, give me the estimated price you are willing to pay?" Seeing that he only writes half a million on a piece of paper.

"Okay, return all my jewels because it seems as if I will have to go elsewhere."

"Ma'am, you won't get more than what I am offering anywhere else."

"Hear what, just give me all my documents and all my jewels, if that what they will pay, then I won't sell."

"But, I thought you wanted spot cash?"

"I am flexible, something else will turn up, or maybe this is God's plan, He doesn't want me to sell it."

Shawney grabs all the boxes, placing them into the bag, then walks out of the store. "What was I thinking? People appreciated me and blessed me with these gifts?

And now I am allowing those fools to disrupt my peace, which has driven me to the point where I cannot think straight anylonger. I thought with everything that happened, I could arrange some fast cash and pay them off, and get rid of the whole bunch of ungrateful bloodsuckers. Now I see that, You, my Lord, don't want me to do that, So, my next best plan right now is, I am going to throw them all out on the street without a dollar."

Returning home, Shawney gets two of the staff members, then takes the master key, and enters each room. Instruct the staff to hurry up and pack all their belongings into boxes, label each box, and then send them to storage.

When the task was completed, Shawney gave strict orders that none of them were to stay in the guest house unless paying. Shawney then takes a taxi out of the village, then out of town.

As each family drops out of the taxi with their family, Aunty Joan asks, "Why is the gate locked? That manager Mr Thomas hired is doing a lousy job."

Walking into the office, seeing a new desk attendant sitting and sanding her nails, she was pretty. Not expecting her to pay any attention to her, but she turned and asked, "How can I help you, Ma'am?"

"Young lady, can you tell me which fool locks the gate, and will you just open it now?"

Watching her behaviour, the receptionist became angry, but then said, "Ma'am, I am very sorry, our instructions from the boss are to keep the gate locked. And what is your name, Ma'am? And how can I help you?"

"Would you just open the gate for me? I am tired and hungry, and for your information, I own the business. Unless you want to get fired, I have to speak to that lawyer?"

"Let me just get the manager, Ma'am." Standing up, she went through the door to the room she used to occupy, calling, "Jake, will you come out here for a minute, please?"

When he came out, seeing her standing at the counter, he said, "Just give me a minute, please." He stepped inside the office for a few minutes, then returned with a few envelopes in his hand. "Okay, Mrs Wayman, is your husband here?"

"Yes, he is, but can you tell me what the hell is going on? I need the gate to open, and by whose instruction did you lock it?"

"Ma'am, if you get your husband, he will explain everything to you."

"Now you just listen to me and open the gate before I get you fired."

"I am sorry, Ma'am, you don't have the authority to fire me, but since you are so determined and opinion-minded, then I should open the gate.

Kindly take this letter to your husband first, then let the others know I need to see them."

Seeing how she snatched the letter and burst open the side, hearing her shout for Mr Wayman to come in, when he did, she snapped, "Is Shawney out of her mind?"

"Joan, what is wrong?" Ken asks.

"Here, read for yourself." Shoving it in his hand.

As he read, I heard him laugh. When the children ask, "Uncle Ken, what is going on, and why aren't they opening the gate?"

"Sid, your sister was here and evicted all of us."

"But where will we go, Linsey asks.

"I don't know about you all, but I am going to get a room in town and ask your Aunt; she is the one responsible for you all on the street.

She took pleasure in embarrassing Shawney, and she did such a fine job at that, now Shawney tripped off and threw us all out."

Hearing Jake saying, "There's a letter for Mr Sid Wayman, Mr Curtis Wayman, Mrs Lynise Crawford, and Mrs Meg Lewis. All went and took the letter that was given as Jake called their names.

Seeing their tears broke Ken's heart, but I did tell her to throw us out.' Taking his bag, I hop in a taxi and leave, seeing all the sad faces.

"Mom, this is all your fault," Julien shouted at her.

"Shut up, Julien, she feels she is better than all of us; somebody had to put a stop to her galivanting herself like a queen."

"I guess you are right, but now we are like vagrants on the street, and all the vagrants have already chosen the good spots, so tell me where we are going to stay tonight?"
