Chapter 65 - CARL AND TORREN'S OBSERVATION

When this young lady said, "Mom, you don't have to speak so loud, and make a show of yourself. Shawney is not home, so you could stop quarrelling."

"Where is she?" The woman asks, "I will teach her a lesson for misbehaving with her elders?"

Carl and Torren observed that no one responded to her; they just turned around and returned inside, leaving her still making herself a laughing stock.

Passersby slowed down, looking on, and as vehicles drove past, they laughed.

When Torren sits next to her, stroking her hand, he seems to understand exactly how she was feeling.

Hearing him say to her, "It will be alright."

As I look at them through the review mirror, unable to believe how calm he has become, only being with her. Earlier, when Shawney didn't come, he was patrolling from his room to the hall, frustrating everyone by saying, "She promised me." Even when we came here, he continues to mutter the same words. It was only when we spoke to Mitch that he calmed down a bit.

Now listening to them whispering to each other, as he hugs her across the shoulder, they both seem to be comforting each other.

'My goodness, who was that woman who got out of the taxi? Boy, she was loud and so huge, shaking herself in such an unseemly manner.'

Recalling when Mitch told Torren, 'They went on the beach with his bus, but from what I observed, Shawney was the person driving his bus. I know I see right, I now understand she couldn't come as she had promised, they are her family and needed her.'

When Mitch came to the car saying, 'His Aunt insisted that he get some medication, that's why he returned home late, searching all over for it, and when he did return, they had left.'

Looking at them once more, Torren seems so relieved and relaxed now, at least Dad will be glad to see he is happy.

At the house, a few guests had already arrived; thank God Torren had taken the dress to her; he had hurried her into the car.

I didn't get a good look at her. Looking at her now, standing at his side, she was breathtaking. And that emerald green looks so rich, and Torren seems pleased with her appearance. It suits her perfectly.'

Entering the hall, the decorator had rearranged the furniture and the dining area, where tables were laid alongside the wall.

The floor was clear for dancing; it was good that we left. The change seems to please him. Smiling as he shakes the guest's hand and welcomes them.

He was also pleased to see there were chairs for those who wanted to sit away from the dining area. At the far end of the hall, tables were beautifully arranged so the guests could eat without disturbing the dancers.

Carl, admiring Careen and Lasandra walking down the stairs, said, "Honey, you look very intoxicating."

"Thank you, my dearest husband. You seem calm. Is everything okay with Torren?"

"He is fine now." Addressing Lasandra, who was standing alongside Careen, "Lasandra, you look amazing, and where is your husband?"

"Carl, your brother will be down in a while; he just returned from work."

"Okay, that's wonderful news. I also spotted your parents not too long ago"

"Then let me go to them, if you will excuse me."

"Carl, where is Torren?" Train, enquired, wanting to speak with him.

"He is somewhere around Dad."

"Did he meet Shawney?"

"Yes, Dad, he is relaxed now, and I must say, he is very happy now."

"Thank God, and Son, thank you for taking him to meet her."

"Dad, the reason she wasn't here as promised was that she had driven her family to the beach with Mitch's bus."

"You mean that big bus?"

"Yes, I was surprised too, but it seems she handles it well, and her outfit fits perfectly; it is one of the exclusive pieces I saw when we visited."

"Yes, I know, Torren will be pleased."

"He was dad, they both look amazing, here they come, you can look for yourself."

Train shrieks out, having to cover his mouth, "My God, they look perfect together."

"My thoughts exactly, Dad, but don't say that too loud; others might get offended."

"I agree, Son."

Entering the hall, seeing the guest, chipping in one by one. Hearing Gus' wife voice, "Gus honey, isn't that the missionary we met on the tour?"

"It looks so, our suspicion was right." Mr Collins responded immediately.

"Right about what?" Train asks as he approaches them.

"Train, the place looks wonderful."

"Yeah, I know, I wanted Torren to be happy. It has been years since we had a dinner party, so what were you talking about?"

"Oh, the young lady, whom we met on our tour, is a missionary."

"Yes, I know, we met while I was promoting our new line, so I invited her to visit. When she came to visit Robert, she visited us."

"Are you saying she is related to Robert?"

"Yes, she is Paula's niece; they will be here anytime, but Shawney came early because while doing missionary work at the hospital, she met Torren, and they have become friends. Now make yourselves comfortable, I have other guests to greet ."

Standing aside when a group of people came, they were a bit noisy, but Robert was with them, as they scattered around while Robert came towards us.

"Mr Collin, this is a nice surprise. How long has it been?"
