Chapter 1 - Arrival

"If I knew I would meet you in this life, I would relive it for an eternity"

~~~
Li Hua looked out the window of the car. Her cold gaze swept over her surroundings as they zoomed past the various buildings that made up City Y. Today was the day she would attend 2nd High School along with her sister. The day she would enter the lion's den.
"You better not talk to me." A whiny voice spoke from next to her. Li Hua turned to look at said voice. Li Yan sat there, arms crossed.
"I won't." She calmly replied. Honestly, she didn't want to be associated with her either.
Li Yan was dressed in her school uniform but was adorned in expensive jewelry and her already pretty face caked up. Seeing her get up made Li Hua roll her eyes. 'Honestly, it was just school not a fashion show. Did she have to walk around as if she was a star? How annoying' She herself had just thrown on her uniform and brushed her hair. Nothing to stand out, like usual.
She was the youngest daughter of the Li family with Li Yan being the oldest. She was praised by everyone, being treated like a princess. She had received the best clothes, education, opportunities. The best of everything. her personality reflected the treatment, truly rotten. Li Hua was the exact opposite. She spent her whole life being compared to Li Yan and of course she wasn't half of her in other's eyes.
'Why can't you be more like your sister' or 'Your sister is doing so well at ____ . What about you?'. At first, she took these words to heart and tried her best to imitate Li Yan but eventually she learned that no matter what she did she would be a mere rock next to a diamond.
"We're here" The driver called. Outside was 2nd High school, a private school where the rich kids of City Y attended. Li Yan got out the car and walked ahead. Li Hua waited a few minutes before getting out, that way it wouldn't seem like they walked in together.
As she passed the gates she was taken back. The school was gigantic. 'Of course, they have to be over the top, why can't rich people ever be simple.' This was her first day here and she was sure she'd get lost. Eventually, after aimlessly walking around for a bit she found her way to the administration office. Seeing her issue they called for a student to come help her around the building.
She was there for about 10 minutes and was bored out of her mind.
'How long does it take to get here? Maybe I'm not the only one lost…'
As she finished her thought, the door opened and a boy walked in. He went to the front desk and spoke a few words to the attendant then turned around to face Li Hua and froze.
"...."
After a few second's he cleared his throat and introduced himself
"Hello, I'm Su Lingtian, the class president and I'm here to show you around the school."
He was a fairly tall boy with a slim-muscular build. He had short messy black hair that framed his face almost perfectly but his face? It was as if God had specially created it. He had semi-tanned skin with almond eyes and thin lips. The most unique was a mole on his right cheek. He oozed confidence and gave off a sense of entitlement. Li Hua had never seen someone as handsome as him, reminding her of a fairytale prince.
However, that didn't faze her. Actually, it somewhat annoyed her. Being surrounded by the rich, she had seen many good looking people on the outside but their personalities rotten on the inside. He was probably just another stuck up prick who felt the world revolved around him.
"Ok." She blandly said as she stood up and waited by the door.
She caught Su LingTian by surprise. Something was different about her. Usually, people would fawn all over him the moment they saw him. The whole thing greatly annoyed him. He wasn't some statue or painting that people could admire. They only looked at him for what he could give them: money, status, and power. No one ever really wanted to know "him". However, she barely gave him 4 seconds of thought.
"Hello?" Li Hua called snapping him out of his thought. Realizing his daydreaming, he hurried and led her out.
He showed her where the classrooms were, along with the restrooms and the various club rooms.
Finally they arrived at the music room. Inside was a piano and a few other instruments, seeing this Li Hua paused. Seeing her stop, he asked, "Oh, do you like music?'
"No." She calmly said. " I was just wondering why it's so empty."
Hearing her question he explained "Oh, it's because it's the old music room, We recently got a new bigger one." He continued ,
"We haven't fully moved all the equipment into there, so the music club has stopped practicing for the time being."
Hearing this, a small smile formed on her face as she replied "Oh ok." And they began walking again. As they made their way down the hall, Su LingTian kept making glances at her.
He had to admit she was really pretty. She had fair porcelain skin and long dark hair that was loosely curled. Her Phoenix-looking eyes captivated him the longer he looked at her. He was no stranger to pretty girls, this school was full of them but she stood out. Instead of being hautley dressed she just wore her uniform bare, giving off a fresh vibe that this school lacked. He noticed as they were walking down the halls that people stopped to stare at her and whisper. Surely if he noticed she did too but it wasn't apparent on her face. Actually, for majority of the walk she held a bored expression. As if this was just any other place and not somewhere most dreamed of attending.
"Wh-"
"I think this is my room." She interrupted.
Looking at the door and her schedule, it was indeed her room.
"Ah, I see. Well, I'll leave you here. If you need something I'll be in Class A"
"Noted."
With that, he turned around to walk away. 'interesting girl' he thought with a smirk.
~~~

Seeing him walk away. She let out a sigh of relief and her hands that were tightly clutched finally released. She hadn't realized till earlier that she was terribly nervous.

This was a new environment full of new people but she knew one thing. Don't let your guard down. If these people were anything like her sister, they weren't to be underestimated. 'The world of the young and rich is dangerous. An endless competition of who's better than who.'

She looked up at her class sign.

CLASS C

'Of course I'm in one of the lowest classes'

"Well here we go."

She walked in and the once voice filled room went quiet. Everyone was looking at her.

"Hello I'm Li Hua. A 2nd year here at 2nd High School and it's a pleasure to meet you all." After a moment people replied.

"Nice to meet you!"

With that the teacher assigned her a seat by the window. The seat next to it was empty, so she assumed no one sat there.

'Fine by me, the less people talk to me the better'

She took her seat and the teacher began speaking.

~~~
The class went by quickly. She kept to herself, not conversing with other people. She did notice a few people turn around to look at her, especially boys. When she caught them looking they would quickly turn back around.
'What's their issue?'
Soon lunchtime started and as she was packing up a few girls approached her. The smell of cheap perfume filled her nose and almost gave her a headache. She looked up in annoyance and saw a very pretty girl and behind her were two others.
"Hi! You're new right?" The girl asked in an over the top tone.
"Yes."
'Didn't I just say she was new earlier?'
"Well I'm Sun Xi and these are my friends, Fa Mian and Lei Xing." The girls behind her slightly waved
" We thought that since you're new and probably don't know anyone you could hang with us!"
As Sun Xi said that, the two behind her started snickering. ' I haven't even been here for a day and there's already a plot against me.'
Li Hua smiled and said in her most sincere voice "I would love to, but I want to take a few days on my own to get situated with the school. I hope you don't mind"
Sun Xi's once proud face froze turning rigid. Seeing her reaction Li Hua quickly responded.
"Please don't be mad. I just don't want to waste your time. I didn't mean to offend you." She said timidly. If anyone were to walk in it would seem as if though she was being reprimanded.
Onlookers began whispering and Sun Xi's face turned a bright red. "It's alright. Maybe some other time."
"Of course." Li Hua responded smiling.
With that, Sun Xi and her friends hurried off. Seeing their retreating backs, she sighed.
She finished grabbing her things and left the room. Instead of walking towards the common area she went and found the school garden. There weren't a bunch of students there so she could relax.
She found a bench and sat down. Listening to the birds and taking in the fresh air, she found herself dozing off.
"What're you doing?" A voice suddenly rang in her ear.
"AAGHH!"
Startled, she jumped off the bench to confront her intruder. To her shock, it was Su LingTian.
He himself had been startled by her reaction. He laughed and said "Sorry."
