She looked at the man beside her. She studied him and scanned him from head to toe. He was in his white polo shirt and dark blue jeans. He has a clear face and a serious tone when he asked. Her eyes squinted and put on a smile.
"Yes? I did not catch that. I'm sorry." Alex replied.
"May I seat with you miss?" The man asked her again with a concerned smile on his face.
"Oh yes please, you may." She smiled back.
The man sat 2 seats away from her. She glanced at the man beside her. The man noticed her and she felt embarrassed by it. She looked away and checked her phone.
7:11 am
Sunday
"It's time to go to church. I wonder what mom and dad are doing." Alex mumbled and sighed.
"What's wrong? Is there something bothering you?" The man asked.
A message soon pops up on the screen and a ringtone was heard. Her face lit up all of a sudden and saw a message.
"Hey, it's Lea. How were you doing? I heard you spent the night with Alexander. Tell something juicy when you come home ;-D. Miss you already xoxo."
The man suddenly asked, "You seem happy seeing that message."
Alex smiled and looked at the man.
"Yeah. It came from my friend." She replied.
The man nodded.
"..."
There were cars parking near them when the man spoke.
"May I ask you a question?" The man turned and asked her.
"Oh ok." She replied.
"Did you have breakfast this morning? Breakfast in this restaurant is good." The man said with a smile.
"What a charmer..." She giggled.
"You did not answer the question." The man said.
"Am I obligated to answer?" She said mockingly.
"Well I asked nicely." The man replied.
"You got a point but I discretely don't want to." She answered.
"Man, Women are vicious during mornings." The man reluctantly said.
They both laughed.
"You made my day. I'm Luke." He lifted his hand to her.
"I'm Alex. Nice to meet you." She shook hands with him.
They both amicably smiled at each other.
"Luke, you had breakfast here today?" Alex asked.
"I'm here for work." Luke said.
"Oh. You said that breakfast here is good. I thought you had breakfast." Alex worriedly said.
"I will later. Are you with someone?" Luke asked.
"Yes. I am with an acquaintance." Alex answered.
"At least you answered one of my questions." Luke sarcastically said.
"Oh my gosh. You remembered." She laughed.
"It's part of me." He joked.
The atmosphere seemed friendly when someone eyes grows cold per second. This person looked at them menacingly. The chilling aura is rising and the people around seems flustered. It seem like walls are crumbling and the wind felt ice cold as heavy footsteps start to draw close to them. The closer those steps come, the more dark and sinister the aura eminated.
"Alex..."
She heard a cold voice called behind her.
Alex turned around when he saw Alexander's figure coming. He looked at Alex indifferently.
"I have been looking for you..." Alex voice trailed off when she saw him looking at Luke with coldness in his eyes. She looked at him and Luke back and forth. There was confusion in her head. She stood up blocking his view and she was only a foot away from him. She touched his face all of a sudden making her eyes widen in shock.
"I did not just do that...Did I?" Her voice quivered in her head.
She was now in disbelief.
"What on Earth are you doing?" She heard her voice in her head. She felt defeated. She withdrew her hand and panicked. There was fear in her eyes. She looked at his eyes helplessly. She squinted her brows and backed away. She turned around and looked at Luke. She wanted to say something when Luke looked stunned.
"Luke..." She called him with concern in her voice.
Luke suddenly looked at her. There was caution in his eyes.
"Is he your bo..." His voice trailed off when he heard Alex's voice.
"I have to go. Thanks for the company." She smiled at him making Alexander eyes grow colder.
He nodded and replied, "Your welcome, Alex..."
Alex turned to Alexander whose icy aura dissipates each step she walks towards him.
"Let's go." Alexander said and grabed her hands toward the parking area. Alex was stunned. She followed him like an obedient child. When they reached the parked motorcycle, Alexander let go of her hand. He stood in front of the motorcycle and looked for his keys. When he finally found his keys, he handed her a helmet. She looked at it lost in her own thoughts. He stretched out his arm to help her and felt his arms numb when he noticed Alex is not moving.
"Alex..." He called at her.
She did not move.
"Alex..." He called her again with a deep voice.
She suddenly flinches.
His eyes gestured her to take the helmet.
"Oh." Alex said and took it.
Out of nowhere, Alex blurted.
"What happened back there? It's confusing."
Alexander was speechless. He looked at her in disbelief and shifted his eyes on looking at her lovingly.
He puts on his helmet and gestured for her to take her seat.
"Answer the question dude." She crossed her arms and their was annoyance in her eyes.
"You already know the answer to that, dude." He winks at her.
She felt her heart beat fast. Her cheeks turned pink and her ears turned red.
"This guy is getting on my nerves." She muttered under her breath.
She tried to kick him when he got hold of her leg. He pulled her closer to him. Her leg is straddled on waist. His arm supporting her back and their faces are just an inch between them. She panicked and her heart pounded faster. Her arms involuntarily rested on his shoulders.
"What the..." She mumbled angrily. Her eyebrows twitched. She gritted her teeth and tried to pry herself out of his gasp.
"Let go of me!" She raised her voice.
She saw him leaning close to her face. She can feel his breath on her skin. His features registered on her eyes. Her eyes slowly closed when she felt his grip loosen up. She took the opportunity to pull herself out when Alexander stop mid air and asked her.
"Do you think I never see through you?"
He was amused by her actions.
Alex stopped moving. She looked at him with shock in her eyes.
"You really think I was going to do something on you." A look of frustration painted on his eyes.
Alex calmed down and Alexander totally lets her go.
"I am being cautious. I just knew you yesterday. What else do you expect?" Alex rebutted.
Alexander looked at her and noticed how she looked.
"Well, you look beautiful today." He complimented her.
"Let's just go..." Alex felt defeated.
Back at the restaurant...
"What happened back there Luke?" The beautiful man asked.
"Well, her name is Alex and she is with an acquiantance of hers but..."
Luke stopped talking when he remembered Alex's so called acquiantance.
The beautiful man waited patiently.
"I think that her acquaintance has a huge liking towards her." Luke said it like he was out of breath. He regained his senses when he saw a smirk down on this beautiful man.
"Hmmm..." The beautiful man looked at Luke with a smile on his face.
"What do you want me to do?" Luke asked him.
"Take your breakfast. I appreciate your hard work. You had done well." The beautiful man said.
"Yes sir. If there is anything you need..." Luke worriedly said.
"I'll just call you." The beautiful man dismissed him.
Luke bowed and walked away. He took his plate and walked towards the breakfast buffet table.
The beautiful man was in deep thoughts. He wanted to know more about Alex. The sooner he gets information, the better his heart will ease. There is something on her that piqued his interest.
"Who could she be? She looked somebody I know. Where have I seen her before?"
He remembered seeing an image of her before. Until he realized something.
"Could she be..."
His thoughts trailed of when his friend came towards him. He regained his senses and greeted the person approaching his table.
"President Chase, it's a pleasure doing business with you. I hope you enjoy today's breakfast." The beautiful man greeted them.
"Yes indeed. I love the view in here and you got the best seat in the house. I'm impressed CEO Matthew." President Chase said.
Matthew signaled his assistant Luke to accompany him.
As they all sat down, Luke handed Matthew some documents for them to sign. Luke's phone rang and he excused himself. He went outside to answer the call when he saw Alex and Alexander so called argument. He looked at them curiously and observed them from afar. He knew that his location can't be noticed by the two. He looked at the caller ID and answered the call.
"Have you find out what I have told you?" Luke asked the person on the other line.
"Yes. I have sent you everything I have searched about the person you are searching for. It's in a file I sent via email." The other person said on the other line.
"Ok. Thanks. That is all. Call you soon." Luke said and hanged up.
Luke glanced at the two people on his direction and turned around to go back to the restaurant. He soon received an email and opened it. When he saw the file, a flash of shock came in his face. He soon calmed himself and regain his breath.
"So it seems the circumstances has changed." Luke muttered under his breath. The information surprised him and wondered when he reached the table. He sat beside Matthew and pushed his thoughts back. He made sure no one finds out this information until he figures things out.
On a room with a desktop computer...
A person staring at the information has its eyes glued upon seeing the name that bares an acquaintance.
"Why are they bothering looking into this person's information?"
Those eyes whose focus was on the picture of that person.
"I guess I should not delve in this too much. It's work." A deep sigh was heard and stretching of arms.
A phone rang and a set of eyes looked at the phone.
This person took the phone and answered.
"Have you find out what I have told you?" The other line asked.
The sound of keys tapping on the keyboard was heard from the background.
"Yes, I have sent you everything I have searched about the person you are searching for. It's in a file I sent via email."
Those fingers pressed sent to the other caller.
"Ok. Thanks. That is all. Call you soon." The other line said and hanged up.
"That was a relief. I must rest now. That took me hours. Such a drag."
There was a knock on the room's door.
"Good morning, I saw your newspaper and they delivered it to me by accident." A woman called out. She left the newspaper on his doormat.
This person massaged his temples. He left his computer and fixed himself. He stretched out his body and made it into the door.
Its hand turned the knob when it saw the newspaper on the floor mat. Its eyes wondered on the sillouette of a figure leaving the hallway.
"Thank You."
The door suddenly closed.
The woman turned around and smiled.
"This neighbor of mine is mysterious." She muttered and left.
She got into her door when she saw a familiar person approaching her. Her eyes widen excitedly. She ran towards her and threw her arms wide to welcome her. She hugged the person so tightly when the person tapped her out.
"Sorry, I'm just excited to see you." The woman said. She lets go of the person and holds her 2 hands.
"You have to tell me what happened..."
