Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 The Village Chief's Good Intentions, Stubborn Xiao Wu

"Xiao Yan, are you home?"

Yu Yan, who was eating, heard the voice of the village chief, Old Man Yu, coming from outside the door. Without thinking much about it, he immediately got up and opened the door.

"Grandpa Fish, I'm home. Wait a moment, I'll come open the door right away."

Upon opening the gate, Yu Yan saw Old Man Yu standing in front of the gate, smiling at him, and also saw Xiao Wu standing beside Old Man Yu, smiling at him as well.

The village chief was all smiles because he was increasingly satisfied with Yu Yan, and Xiao Wu was all smiles because she had successfully found Yu Yan.

On the way here, Xiao Wu successfully learned the name Yu Yan from Old Man Yu, and also learned some basic information about Yu Yan.

The hospitable old fish man didn't need Xiao Wu to ask him anything; he just talked a lot about Yu Yan and praised him as a good boy.

Old Man Yu's behavior was simply because he wanted to show off his fish flames to outsiders.

"Xiao Yan, I came to see you about something. I ran into your friend on the way, so I brought her along."

"Xiao Wu is a polite and likable child, just like you."

Old Man Yu walked into the courtyard with a smile, and even praised Xiao Wu as he entered.

There are many children in the fishing village, and the wise old fisherman can clearly tell which child is truly polite.

"Hehe, Yu Yan, we meet again."

Xiao Wu followed behind Old Man Yu, smiling and waving to greet Yu Yan.

Because Old Man Yu was there, Yu Yan, who didn't want to show Xiao Wu a bad attitude in front of him, rolled his eyes at Xiao Wu but didn't stop her.

"Grandpa Fish, what can I do for you?"

Yu Yan invited Old Man Yu inside and asked him to come in and sit down. He went straight to the point, asking what the other man wanted to see him about.

"Well, my son will be back in a couple of days, and I'd like to introduce you to him."

"He lives in Barak City, and you will be going to school there in the future. If you need anything there, you can go directly to him. He will help you as much as he can, out of respect for me."

"I came here to talk to you about this and ask for your thoughts."

Old Man Yu took a sip of the tea that Yu Yan handed him and explained the purpose of his visit.

"No problem, when is Brother Yu coming back?"

This is good news for Yu Yan right now, and Yu Yan naturally won't refuse Grandpa Yu's suggestion.

"It's fine as long as there's no problem. You've never liked being helped since you were little, and I was worried you would refuse my offer. My son will be back in five days to help me harvest the fish in the pond. I'll introduce you two then."

Seeing that Yu Yan agreed with his idea, Old Man Yu's smile widened.

Of course, Old Man Yu wasn't without his own selfish motives.

Yu Yan has great talent, but his son's talent is not so great.

His idea was simple: now he wanted his son to help Yu Yan more, and later Yu Yan would help his son.

"If you're going to collect the fish from the pond, I'll come and help you."

Seeing that Old Man Yu was about to speak, Yu Yan quickly spoke up:

"You've helped me so much already, now I'm doing my best to help you. Please don't refuse, otherwise I'll be too embarrassed to ask Brother Yu for help in the future."

"Alright, you can come and help me out then. I never thought I could get two Soul Masters to help me collect the fish, hahaha..."

Seeing that Yu Yan had shut him up, Old Man Yu chuckled and accepted Yu Yan's offer.

This is also the most important reason why Old Man Yu likes Yu Yan: he is grateful and will not take other people's help for granted.

After a brief chat, Old Man Yu, having run out of things to say, waved goodbye with a smile and congratulated Yu Yan on making a new friend.

Watching the old man leave, Yu Yan suppressed his smile and looked at Xiao Wu, who had been sitting silently to the side.

While Old Man Yu and Yu Yan were talking, Xiao Wu sat obediently to the side without interrupting.

"Didn't you just see? My cultivation method is really nothing special. Why did you chase after me?"

"Besides, what kind of behavior is it for a young girl like you to follow me all the way here instead of going home for dinner? You should go home and eat."

Seeing that Xiao Wu was sitting there with no intention of leaving, Yu Yan reiterated that he was nothing special and made it clear that she should leave his house.

"I'm absolutely sure I didn't see it wrong."

Xiao Wu stuck to her opinion; she didn't think she was wrong.

Furthermore, Yu Yan's casual suggestion to go home for dinner not only failed to dissuade Xiao Wu, but also strengthened her resolve to obtain this special cultivation method.

At this moment, facing the stubborn Xiao Wu, Yu Yan didn't know what to say.

Seeing Yu Yan fall silent, Xiao Wu thought for a moment and looked at Yu Yan sincerely:

"If you're willing to tell me, you can make a request. Whatever it is, I'll try my best to fulfill it."

Xiao Wu's mother is a very gentle person. Under her guidance, even though Xiao Wu is stronger than Yu Yan, she never had any thoughts of taking her by force.

Of course, Xiao Wu would never give up the opportunity to obtain cultivation methods from Yu Yan, as it was a chance to quickly become stronger and avenge her mother. She didn't want to give it up.

"I really don't have any good cultivation methods. I only got my meditation method from the Spirit Hall deacon a few days ago. If you're really interested, you can go and get a copy yourself."

After hearing Yu Yan's words, Xiao Wu remained unmoved and sat there, repeating what she had just said: she was willing to make an exchange with Yu Yan.

Seeing Xiao Wu's stubbornness, Yu Yan clenched and unclenched his fist.

On the one hand, he was no match for Xiao Wu, and he didn't want to test the power of Xiao Wu's soft skills.

On the other hand, Xiao Wu wanted to know his secret but didn't attack him. She even suggested an exchange, which prevented Yu Yan from saying anything harsh to her.

In summary, Yu Yan only felt that Xiao Wu wanted to know the reason for the abnormal energy fluctuations in his cultivation, and that she had no ill intentions towards him.

Time passed slowly in silence. Yu Yan didn't know what to say, while Xiao Wu stubbornly waited for Yu Yan to agree to her request.

She really tries her best to fulfill Yu Yan's requests, as long as Yu Yan agrees.

Xiao Wu's personality is just like that; once she's made up her mind, nothing can change it, and this is reflected in every aspect of her original life trajectory.

Just as neither of them knew what to say, a 'gurgling' sound broke the silence between them.

This is the sound of the stomach protesting after a long period of fasting.

Yu Yan had just eaten, so his stomach naturally didn't protest.

It's not that I'm hungry, it's Xiao Wu?

Yu Yan looked at Xiao Wu and noticed that Xiao Wu's face was already flushed.

Xiao Wu was very embarrassed, but as her stomach protested, she smelled the aroma coming from the basin on the table next to her.

When a person is hungry, their sense of smell is always exceptionally sensitive.

Feeling the protest from her stomach, Xiaowu hesitated for a moment, then cautiously asked:

"Um, can I have some of this?"
