Ethan's pov
Being the alpha of the strongest and largest pack is never easy. Since the day I turned ten I was sent to alpha training, the training I endured was intense and difficult for a kid my age but at the end it was totally worth it.
I'm now the most strongest alpha across the state and the most feared.
"Do you have a moment?" My father asked, standing at the doorway of my office.
"What it is?" I sighed running my fingers through my hair.
My father and I never quite got along, he isn't the type of father that showed concern or care.
My father met his mate just after he was announced as the alpha of the blood hound pack. His mate, my mother was a vampire.
My father mentioned my mother left as soon as she had given birth to me. He said he suspected that she had another man in her life, why else would she flee and leave me behind? That's one of the reason why my father doesn't believe in mates.
And I believe him, mates are a weakness. They're nothing but a liability and a distraction and If I happen to meet my mate I'd reject her the very minute I meet her. Well that's if I happen to find her because I doubt I ever would.
"There's a meeting tomorrow and you will need to be present."
"Meeting? With whom?" I enquire grabbing a blood bag from the refrigerator.
Father sighed, wrinkling his nose.
"Do you have to do that in front of me?"
I let out a small chuckle licking my lips. My father despises vampires, especially after what my mother had done to him. He hates when I feed in front of him, he thinks it's disgusting.
"Father if I don't feed on time you know what would happen, don't you?" I smirked.
He swallowed looking away.
It was a few years ago we're my dear father tried to starve me.
The bastard threw me in the dungeons and try to control my thirst for blood. I went on for days without feeding until I could no longer take it. My father so happened to pay me a visit down at the dungeons and began lecturing me like he always does about me becoming the strongest and most powerful alpha.
I completely lost it and pounced on him sinking my fangs into his neck fortunately the guards intervened and injected me with vervain which weakened me.
He has the mark of my fangs imbeded on his neck leaving it as a reminder not to interfere with my vampire business.
"The alpha of the blue moon pack. It seems he wishes to form an allegiance with us."
"Him? Alpha Marcus?"
He nods, crossing his arms.
"And you trust that weasel to form an allegiance with his pack?
Have you heard he's been dealing with humans?"
Father frowned, raising his brows.
"What do you mean? And Where did you hear this?"
I snort. "I have my resources. The bastard has been kidnapping wolves from every pack and placing them on auction."
"And what are the humans doing with these wolves?"
"Experimenting." I replied, throwing the now empty blood bag into the bin.
He let's out a sigh pinching the bridge of his nose.
"What do we do about this? We obviously can't let these humans get away with this."
I smirked placing a cigarette between my lips and lighting it. "Relax father, I have everything under control."
Father smiled. "I knew making you alpha was the wisest decision. You make me proud son."
"Wow." I snickered. "That's the first time you've actually praised me father."
"You deserve to be praised son after all, you've become what I always wanted."
Once my father left, my beta Colton entered.
"Hey boss." He greeted as he casually strolled into my office with his hands shoved into his pants pocket.
"The guys and I are going to hung out at the bar tonight, do you want to come along?" He offered.
I shook my head, ashing the cigarette.
"Nah I think I'll pass."
"Come on man. You've been couped up in here all day, you need to chill a little and have some fun. When last did you even get laid?"
"Not that it's any of your business." I retorted.
Colton and I are childhood friends. Unlike me he believes in the mate bond and is currently searching for his mate.
"It will be fun like old time and who knows you might pick a lay for the night." He grinned, winking at me.
"Fine I'll come." I grumbled.
As soon as I stepped into the bar the alluring scent of cocoa and honey filled my nostrils. My gaze landed on a beautiful petite woman with long dark locks and emerald green eyes.
"Mate" my wolf growled shocking me.

Freya's pov
I think coming here to this bar was a huge mistake. Eversince I entered everyone's eyes were on me.
I tried to ignore their stares and found a quiet corner to nurse my wounds, although I'm not one to seek comfort in alcohol, the need to escape the ache in my heart led me to order a strong drink, hoping to find temporary relief in it's numbing embrace.
I don't usually hang out in places like this, to be honest this is actually the first time I've ever stepped into a bar.
Being in this place reminds me of my mother, a memory I don't wish to remember but it's forever engraved in my mind.
I recall that day when I had just finished school and returned home
only to not find her at home. I searched the entire block looking for her until someone informed me they saw her in a bar.
When I arrived there I felt anger and hatred towards my mother. She was behaving like a whore, throwing herself at men.
I wanted to leave her in there and walk away. I was to embarrassed to even acknowledge her as my mother. I understand my father had broken her heart but she didn't need to resort to alcohol or whore around.
I let out sigh placing the glass down and rising to my feet.
Actually I did make a mistake by coming here. I'm not going to follow in my mother's footsteps and act as if it's the end of the world for me.
I need to get grip and move on. Maybe it happened for a reason, maybe Luke and I weren't meant for each other, maybe there's someone out there for me that would truly love me for who I am.
Just as I was about to get up, the door opened. I shivered as I felt the frigid breeze brush against my body.
Walking in the door were four huge men, stomping their boots on the mat and shaking the snow of their hair. I usually wouldn't pay them much attention, except for the fact that I somehow seemed to catch the larger one's eye.
He was devilishly handsome than any man I've ever seen before even luke was nothing compared to this guy.
He stood over six feet, built of daunting muscles. A ruggedly handsome face with a sharp nose, square cut jawline, chestnut brown- colored hair cut short but still long enough to run his fingers through and a diamond stud earing that glittered in the light.
My eyes then wandered down his body, he was adorned in a white T-shirt that clung to the prominent muscles of his torso, dark jeans and a pair of combat boots.
Our gazes locked and for a moment I felt the whole world stop around us.
For some reason I felt drawn towards him.
A small smirk played on his lips. That look spent sparks down to the top of my fingers and made my heart race.
I broke the gaze and quickly looked away, suddenly finding the bottom of my drink very interesting.
