Rani turned to her parents, stunned. "So you both knew? You knew all along and kept me in this agony?"
Rani's Mother: "It was all for your own good, child."
Seeing their influence slipping away, the two aunts tried one last desperate move to separate the couple. "Rani might not have known he fell," they argued, "but she still left him. Rakesh, you shouldn't start this relationship again with someone who abandoned you."
Rani's mother snapped at them, her patience finally gone. "Listen, you two have caused enough damage. Don't you dare try a second time. You've stayed in our house long enough. Once we return from Uttarakhand, you are to go back to your own homes and cut all ties with us. Do you understand?"
The Reunion
Rani practically dragged Rakesh to a secluded, beautiful spot in the mountains. Suddenly, she let out a sob and gave him a sharp slap on the cheek.
Rani (crying): "You knew! You knew everything, yet you let me suffer for a whole year on purpose!"
Rakesh: "What could I do? It wasn't my fault—it was your father's plan!"
Rani: "My father suggested it and you just agreed? Do you know I had decided to live my whole life alone? Did you enjoy making me cry? Believe me, I love you so much!" She began hitting his chest weakly, buried in her tears.
Rakesh: "But I still haven't changed, Rani. I'm still that same shy man. Even today, I couldn't come here alone; your father had to arrange for me and my whole family to come."
Rani: "Your family is here too? I didn't see them."
Rakesh: "They're in the room right next to yours. You didn't notice. But forget that—you didn't answer my question. I'm still shy. Is that a problem? Should I leave again?"
Rani pointed a finger at him, a tearful smile breaking through. "Don't you dare say that again. This 'shy boy' is exactly who I want."
Rakesh and Rani embraced tightly under the mountain sky, finally ready to begin their happy life together
