Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Eyes of the Star Stream

The air changed.

Kim Dokja felt it before the system even announced it.

The sky above Seoul darkened—not naturally, but like a curtain being pulled across the stage of reality. The faint glow of constellations sharpened, their presence pressing down on the city with uncomfortable weight.

Dokja looked up and sighed.

"Yep… that's definitely a higher constellation."

Yoo Joonghyuk's sword was already in his hand again.

"Which one?"

"Not sure yet," Dokja replied, adjusting his glasses. "But if they requested observation authority directly, they're probably someone with too much power and too much time."

Behind them, Persephone stood calmly in the middle of the rooftop garden.

The vines around her shifted slightly, as if reacting to the pressure descending from the sky.

But she didn't look concerned.

If anything, she looked interested.

A new message appeared.

[A Great Constellation has entered the observation field.]

Dokja clicked his tongue.

"Great. Literally."

Yoo Joonghyuk glanced at the system window.

"A Great Constellation wouldn't appear for a minor district scenario."

"Normally, no," Dokja said.

He glanced back at Persephone.

"But normally we don't have an unregistered goddess solving scenarios like side quests."

Persephone smiled faintly.

"I appreciate the compliment."

"It wasn't entirely a compliment."

The pressure from above grew stronger.

Even the rooftop garden reacted.

Several flowers closed their petals as if sensing something hostile.

Then another system message appeared.

[Constellation 'Architect of the Cosmos' has begun observing the anomaly.]

Dokja froze.

"…Oh."

Yoo Joonghyuk's eyes narrowed.

"You recognize that name."

"Unfortunately."

Dokja rubbed his face.

"That's one of the high administrators of the Star Stream."

Persephone tilted her head.

"Administrator."

"Basically a cosmic bureaucrat."

Yoo Joonghyuk spoke quietly.

"They enforce narrative balance."

"Exactly."

Dokja exhaled slowly.

"And right now they're staring directly at you."

Persephone looked up at the sky.

Her expression remained completely calm.

"Hello."

Dokja choked slightly.

"You don't greet the cosmic regulators!"

A new message flashed immediately.

[Constellation 'Architect of the Cosmos' is analyzing the foreign entity.]

[Probability calculations in progress.]

Yoo Joonghyuk shifted his stance slightly.

"Will they attack?"

Dokja shook his head slowly.

"Not immediately."

He looked at the growing list of messages.

"They're trying to figure out what she is first."

Persephone stepped closer to the rooftop edge again.

The wind lifted strands of her dark hair as she gazed into the sky.

"I can feel them."

Dokja groaned.

"Please don't provoke them."

"I'm not."

She paused.

"Yet."

Yoo Joonghyuk glanced at Dokja.

"You brought this problem here."

Dokja scoffed.

"I didn't summon a Greek goddess into the apocalypse."

Persephone looked mildly offended.

"You make it sound like I'm inconvenient."

"You are extremely inconvenient."

Another message appeared.

[Warning: Foreign power does not match any registered narrative entity.]

[System attempting classification.]

Dokja leaned closer to the screen.

"…They can't categorize you."

Persephone looked pleased.

"That must be frustrating for them."

Yoo Joonghyuk did not share that amusement.

"If they determine she is destabilizing the narrative, they will attempt removal."

Dokja nodded.

"Yep."

Persephone finally looked back at them.

"And what does 'removal' involve?"

Dokja answered bluntly.

"They erase you."

A brief silence followed.

Then Persephone laughed softly.

The flowers around her bloomed again.

"That sounds ambitious."

Dokja winced.

"Please don't challenge the cosmic administrators."

But the system messages were accelerating now.

[Probability imbalance increasing.]

[Administrator intervention recommended.]

The sky above the city flickered faintly.

Like something massive shifting behind reality.

Yoo Joonghyuk noticed immediately.

"They're preparing something."

Dokja muttered.

"Of course they are."

Persephone raised her eyes again.

Her expression had changed slightly now.

Not fear.

Not anger.

Anticipation.

"So this is the system that governs your story."

Dokja nodded slowly.

"Pretty much."

"And it believes it can decide who belongs in the narrative."

"Yep."

Persephone considered that quietly.

Then she stepped forward.

Closer to the rooftop edge.

Dokja's stomach dropped.

"…What are you doing?"

"I want to speak to it."

Yoo Joonghyuk immediately tensed.

"That is unwise."

Dokja agreed instantly.

"Extremely unwise."

Persephone ignored both of them.

She looked directly into the dark sky.

Toward the unseen presence of the observing constellation.

Then she spoke.

Her voice was calm.

But it carried strangely far.

"I understand that this world has rules."

The system messages paused.

Even Dokja noticed it.

Like the Star Stream itself was listening.

Persephone continued.

"But I did not come here to destroy your story."

The rooftop garden swayed gently around her.

"I came to see how it ends."

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Then the system responded.

[Constellation 'Architect of the Cosmos' acknowledges the statement.]

Dokja blinked.

"…Wait. That actually worked?"

But another message appeared immediately.

[However, the anomaly continues to distort probability.]

[Observation will continue.]

Dokja sighed.

"Well… at least they didn't try to erase you."

Yoo Joonghyuk lowered his sword slightly.

"But they are watching now."

Persephone smiled.

"That was already the case."

Dokja leaned against the railing again.

"Great. So now we have cosmic administrators monitoring our rooftop."

Persephone glanced at him.

"You seem used to this."

"I really shouldn't be."

High above them, the pressure slowly eased.

The Great Constellation had not left.

But it had chosen to wait.

To observe.

Dokja exhaled slowly.

"Congratulations," he said to Persephone.

"You're officially part of the story now."

She looked back at the ruined city.

"Good."

Her eyes gleamed faintly.

"I was hoping it would become interesting."

Beside her, Yoo Joonghyuk watched the sky carefully.

Because if the administrators were paying attention now…

Then every action from this moment forward would matter.

And the story had just gained a variable that even the Star Stream couldn't fully predict. 🌑📖⚔️🌸
