Morning sunlight slowly spread across the city. For the first time in many days, the sky was clear. No thunder. No lightning. Just quiet.
People slowly walked through the streets again, whispering about the battle from the night before.
Some still feared the Stormborn.
Others finally understood him.
High above the city, Kael stood on the castle balcony, looking at the peaceful skyline. The wind gently moved his coat, but the storm inside him was finally calm.
Footsteps approached behind him.
Lyssa.
"You're leaving, aren't you?" she asked softly.
Kael didn't turn immediately. For a moment, he just looked at the horizon.
"Yes," he said.
Lyssa walked beside him. "After everything… after saving the city… why leave?"
Kael finally looked at her, and for the first time in a long time, there was no coldness in his eyes.
"Because the city needs peace," he replied. "And peace doesn't exist when people fear the one protecting them."
Lyssa shook her head slightly."They'll understand eventually."
"Maybe," Kael said quietly. "But until then… the Stormborn should remain a legend, not a ruler."
Below them, the city continued waking up. Merchants opening shops, children running through the streets, guards relaxing for the first time in weeks.
The world was normal again.
And that was all Kael ever wanted.
Lyssa looked at him with mixed emotions."You carried all that hatred… all those accusations… just to protect everyone."
Kael gave a faint smile.
"Someone had to."
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Lyssa said quietly,"Will I see you again?"
Kael looked toward the bright sky.
"The storm never truly disappears," he said.
"It just waits… until the world needs it again."
A gust of wind moved through the balcony.
And when Lyssa blinked—
Kael was gone.
Only the quiet sky remained.
Far away beyond the city walls, a lone figure walked toward the distant mountains.
Not a villain.
Not a hero.
Just Kael, the last Stormborn.
And though the storm had ended…
His legend had only just begun.
