Chapter 1 - Chapter 1. reincarnation

Yang Hao. Nineteen.

Died like a damn idiot.

One second I'm shoving this tiny girl out of the truck's way, next second — bam. Everything's black.

Her scream was the last thing in my head. Kinda worth it, I guess? At least someone's alive because of me.

My family though?

They'd probably just sigh and calculate how much tuition money got wasted.

Mom and Dad never hugged me. Never said "good job" unless it came with a report card.

I was their project. Good grades = future cash. Behave = don't embarrass us.

So I learned to read people real fast. Fake smiles. Greedy eyes. Cold bullshit behind "we're proud of you".

Love? Yeah right. Never felt it coming my way, so I never gave it either.

But god… deep down I wanted to be free.

Sleep till noon. Chase pretty girls. Feel horny without feeling guilty. Live like I don't owe anyone my fucking soul.

Never happened.

Then darkness swallowed me whole.

When I "woke up" — if you can call it that — it was pure black.

Warm. Tight. Wet. Floating.

Couldn't move much. Couldn't see shit.

But some weird gut feeling hit me hard:

I'm inside a fucking womb.

Heart started pounding.

What the hell? Reborn? Me?

No family orders. No expectations. No script.

For the first time ever… I had nothing to do.

Felt empty. Scared.

Like a ghost who forgot why he was even haunting.

And then — stupidly — I thought about them.

Are they okay without me? Did I fuck them over by dying?

Even now I feel like I owe them. Pathetic, right? They treated me like a tool and I'm still worried. Brainwashed or something.

I was spiraling, chest tight, when —

Ding!

Sharp sound. Like notification on steroids.

Whole world went quiet. My panic… just melted. Like someone turned the volume down on my brain.

Voice in my head. Calm. Kinda playful.

"You are qualified to bind the system. Bind?"

My brain short-circuited.

SYSTEM?!

Bro… I read enough webnovels to know what this is.

Cheat code. Plot armor. My turn to be the main character.

I didn't even think.

"YES! Bind! Do it!"

"Congratulations, Host. [Life Choice & Task System] bound successfully."

I laughed inside. Actually laughed. Felt fucking alive.

"Yo system, what you do?"

"I give choices. Tasks. You finish = rewards. Skills. Money. Power. Girls. Whatever you want."

Simple. I get it.

Grinning like idiot even though I got no mouth yet.

"Beginner gift pack? Gimme!"

"Unlocks after birth, sorry~ For now just chill. Want anime? Webtoons? Games? Porn? I got everything. Unlimited library. Hehe."

…Wait what?

Anime. Here. In a womb.

Unlimited.

I almost cried from happiness.

"System… you're the fucking best. I love you. Seriously."

Darkness didn't feel scary anymore.

Felt like… freedom.

Like the start of something selfish. Something mine.

Can't wait to get out and start living for real.

The night air outside the largest hospital in China felt unusually heavy.

Armed security guards stood at every entrance. Black vehicles lined the street. Surveillance drones hovered silently above the building, their faint red lights blinking in the darkness. It looked less like a hospital… and more like a military fortress protecting a national secret.

Inside a quiet corridor on the restricted floor, two senior doctors stood near a window.

One of them sighed and adjusted his glasses.

"Is all of this really necessary?" he muttered, glancing toward the guards outside.

The other doctor looked at him as if he had just asked the most foolish question imaginable.

"You've heard of the Yang family, haven't you?"

The first doctor froze slightly.

"Of course I have… One of the most powerful families in China. A family with centuries of heritage."

The other doctor nodded slowly.

"And tonight… the only heir of the Yang family will be born."

A moment of silence followed.

The first doctor swallowed.

"I remember now. The arranged marriage between the Yang family and the Mu family years ago… That alliance made both families even more powerful."

"Yes," the second doctor said quietly. "And the bride… the Mu family's daughter."

"The one they call the most beautiful woman in the country?"

"The same."

The first doctor lowered his voice.

"But I heard something strange about her… They say she hates being touched. Like an iceberg."

The other doctor gave a small, uneasy smile.

"That rumor isn't wrong."

"Then how—"

The doctor cut him off immediately.

"Technology."

A brief pause.

"The child was conceived through advanced genetic procedures. Yang family bloodline… Mu family womb. No physical contact."

The first doctor's eyes widened slightly.

"So she's pregnant… without ever letting her husband touch her."

"Yes."

The corridor fell silent again.

Then the second doctor leaned closer and whispered carefully,

"Let's stop talking about this. If the wrong person hears us… we might not leave this hospital alive."

Inside the Delivery Room

Bright surgical lights filled the luxurious private operating room.

Doctors and nurses moved carefully and silently around the operating table.

Lying on the bed was a woman so beautiful that she almost looked unreal. Her skin was pale like jade, and her long dark hair spread across the pillow like ink spilled on silk.

Her name was Mu Yueqing.

One hand rested gently on her stomach.

Inside… the child who would inherit the Yang family.

Her eyes were calm, but deep inside them was a quiet loneliness.

My life was never my own, she thought.

I was born for my family… raised for politics… and married for power.

A faint bitterness passed through her heart.

To the world, she was admired.

But to herself… she was nothing more than a carefully crafted tool.

Her fingers tightened slightly over her stomach.

But then her expression softened.

From now on… I will live for you.

My child.

You will have everything I never had.

Power. Freedom. Love.

Even if it meant giving him everything she had… even herself.

A gentle smile appeared on her lips as the doctors prepared for the operation.

And at that moment—

Inside her womb…

The unborn child slowly opened his eyes.
