Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 The real objective.

Ignite was never about family.

It was about inheritance.

Leonid Voss stood in his private study, lights dimmed, city stretching beneath him like a conquered kingdom. In his hand — a thin folder.

Inside it:

Bank transfers.

Surveillance screenshots.

Hospital billing trails.

Security reports.

And one name circled in black ink.

Aansi.

But this was never about her.

This was about Zaid.

Leonid did not care whom his son touched.

He cared whom his son chose.

And Zaid had interfered.

That was the mistake.

The Summons

Zaid entered Ignite that night without announcement.

He did not ask permission.

He never did.

Leonid was already waiting.

No greetings.

No pretense.

"You moved funds," Leonid said calmly.

Zaid poured himself a drink without looking at him.

"And?"

"You interfered with my arrangement."

Zaid's jaw tightened slightly.

"That arrangement was inefficient."

Leonid's eyes narrowed.

"You are not in control yet."

Silence.

The room felt like a chessboard mid-game.

Then Leonid placed the next piece.

"She is under investigation."

Zaid didn't react.

"She will be charged within forty-eight hours."

Still nothing.

"She goes down," Leonid continued evenly, "the hospital funding freezes. Her mother's treatment stops."

Zaid finally looked at him.

Cold.

"You're using her."

Leonid's lips curved faintly.

"I'm using you."

The Condition

Leonid slid documents across the table.

Marriage contracts.

Corporate amendments.

Inheritance acceleration clause.

"If you marry her," Leonid said, "you gain immediate executive authority over Voss Holdings."

Zaid's expression did not change.

"If you refuse," Leonid continued, "I remove you from succession."

The air thickened.

This wasn't about morality.

This wasn't about Aansi.

This was control.

Leonid leaned back.

"You think I don't see it?" he asked quietly.

"You think I don't see your ambition?"

Zaid didn't blink. He knows he's *Zaid's* racist. He's *Leonid's* doing this for revenge. Against his own son? huh! He's always like this. Fucker.

Leonid smiled faintly.

"Marry her. Take the empire. End this game."

"And if I don't?"

Leonid's voice turned to steel.

"Then I destroy everything connected to your interference."

Silence fell heavy.

Zaid looked at the documents again.

Not because of her.

Because of the clause.

Executive authority.

Full access.

Immediate.

Leonid thought he was forcing him.

He wasn't.

He was accelerating him.

Meanwhile

Aansi sat in a legal office answering questions about financial misconduct she didn't understand.

Her accounts frozen.

Her job gone.

Her mother's next treatment suspended pending verification.

She didn't call Zaid.

She didn't beg.

She simply endured.

And that — ironically — made her more dangerous than she knew.

The Decision

Later that night.

Zaid stood alone in Ignite's upper balcony.

Wind sharp against his face.

He didn't think about her.

He didn't care about her survival.
