(scene: sector 5, Japan. year: 2058, years ago.)
We open on the same lake.. young Aris still sits upon the rock.. everything silent around him. His eyes stay dead locked on the reflection. Until, at least in his eyes.. the shape of the reflection changes.. a different man staring back at him, red eyes glaring. images flash through the boys head, his family sprawled on the wooden floor. Red eyes staring through the door.. blood dripping onto the floor boards, staining walls. Aris: "Lines.. lines from the energy of the sleeping soul." More images flood his mind. A whole village.. murdered. Aris sits in the middle.. cuts all over him, clothes torn. bodies sprawled all around him. A single man stands in the middle of it all.. glowing red eyes.. with a sharp, jagged line weapon dripping blood in his hand. Aris: "you only live good in this world.. if you have power. people with power.. can do anything."
Suddenly- footsteps rapidly approach. Young Kai racing in behind him, stumbling as he slides to a stop.. red berries in his hand. Aris: "hm..?" Kai grins stupidly "They're cherries!" Aris' cold face stares kai up and down.. and he cant help but burst into laughter at the boys goofy expression. Kai blinks in confusion, but he decides to laugh along. Aris grabs a couple cherries, popping them in his mouth. His face stretches "man! this is good..!" Kai: "MHM! MHM!" Kai eats a couple, then- they both reach for the final one.. grabbing each other on accident. They both freeze.. Kai: "so..." Aris lets go, turning away and letting him have it. kai opens his mouth, about to eat it, until- *GRR* Aris' stomach again. kai stops "tch.. here" he tosses it, Aris catching it with a smile.
from that point on, those boys were best friend.
the boys began spending everyday together. scavenging for food scraps left behind. laughing as they feed stray hyenas. sneaking through territories alleyways unspotted. swinging on rusted swings.
Aris blows gum.. Kai looks over, thoughts in his mind.. wind blows.. Kai: "Hey, aris..?" Aris: "Hm..?" Kai: "im.. really glad i met you..!" Aris smirks a little "yeah.. lets be friends, forever." forever..
(scene: Year: 2058, the sector 5 forest.)
The moon hangs over the sectors forest.. the two boys stand together, in the middle of the forest.. staring at something in Aris' hand.. Their faces glowing radiant blue. in Aris' hand.. a single glowing line. Kai: "Woah..! what.. is that..?" Aris: "the.. the lines..!" images flash through the boys mind.. thoughts that have been surpressed ever since meeting kai. The man with red eyes.. over his mother. "pathetic." the mans voice echoed. Aris freezes. he thinks to himself "brother.. is this.. is this what you meant..?" Kai: "the lines..?" Aris: "the lines.. that must lead us to power.." he turns.. walking silently deeper into the woods. Kai: "Aris..?" but that was the day. that Aris changed..
(scene: a large crowd grown in sector 5.. year: 2058)
A crowd full of gang members and leaders are gathered. hidden within the crowd, stands kai.. he stares, a shocked expression on his face. In the middle of the crowd.. Aris! He stands over 3 beaten and bruised men.. smirking proudly. "This is my territory now, understand!?" the crowd roars.. claps and hyped cheers barking. Kai stares.. his internal thoughts trying to process. "they called him great.. powerful. he only has a single line.. but it can stretch to infinite lengths.. the infinity line." two men in suits approach Aris, slowly clapping. man 1: "hey kid.. that's a strong line ya got." man2: "why dont you come to sector 4, with us? you'd make a lot of money.." Aris smirks, he turns his head.. seeing kai. a semi-second thought in his head. he thinks to himself: "i cant.. i cant slow down. not for someone with no power" he turns his back to kai.. walking away. Kai's face deflates. watching his 1st real friend ever.. walk out of his life.
(scene: sector 5, year: 2069, current day.)
current Aris still stands before kai.. shielding him from the bald man from last chapter. the man recoils, seeing Aris. "u-uh.. its.." Aris: "should i kill you..?" the man bows "PLEASE! I HAD NO CLUE THIS GUY WAS A FRIEND OF YOURS SIR ARIS!" Aris: "tch. get out of my face." the man takes off. kai: "he didn't get scared of me like that.." then, his head snaps back up "ARIS!" Aris slowly turns.. "little red-cherry, eh?" kai's face covers in embarrassment "please don't call me that.. its been years since i seen you.." Aris smirks "You dont change, do ya..?" not speaking of kai's appearance, but rather.. his power. Kai's face lowers, his own mind betraying him internally: "my lines.. they're too short. and too-" Aris: "you're still as weak as always.." kai: "huh?" Aris turns away, leaving. "borrrring!" kai chases after him "YEAH!? WELL.. WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN???" Aris: "come on. we're on different levels now in days. it's a tragic thing." he slips his hands in his pockets. Kai stops.. "different levels..?" his fists close.. a drip.. of disrespect that he's feeling. "He thinks.. he's.. BETTER THEN ME!?"
