Chapter 15 – The Results

The presentation ended, but the tension in Anshul's mind did not disappear immediately.

Even after leaving the computer lab, he kept replaying the entire event in his head.

Did he explain everything clearly?

Did the judges understand the system architecture?

Were his answers good enough?

Rahul walked beside him through the school corridor.

"Relax," Rahul said.

"You looked confident."

"I was prepared," Anshul replied calmly.

"Prepared doesn't mean confident."

Rahul laughed.

"Well, from the outside you looked like a professional."

Anshul shook his head slightly.

"Let's wait for the results first."

The judges had explained that the final evaluation would take a few days.

Which meant waiting.

And waiting was often the hardest part.

---

The following days passed slowly.

School continued as usual.

Classes.

Homework.

Exams.

But every evening when Anshul returned home, he checked his email.

No results yet.

During that time, he didn't stop working.

Instead, he continued improving StudyFlow.

Now that the program had several hundred users, small technical issues began appearing.

Some students reported minor bugs.

Others requested new features.

Anshul patiently reviewed each message.

Fixing problems.

Improving performance.

Updating the interface.

The project was slowly evolving beyond its original design.

And that realization gave him a new idea.

What if StudyFlow could eventually become more than just a competition project?

What if it could grow into a real product?

The thought lingered in his mind.

But for now, he pushed it aside.

First he needed to focus on the immediate goal.

Winning the competition.

---

Three days later, the email finally arrived.

Anshul was sitting at the family computer when the notification appeared.

The sender was familiar.

National Student Innovation Challenge Committee

For a moment, he simply stared at the screen.

Then he clicked the message.

His eyes moved quickly across the text.

The result was written clearly.

StudyFlow had been selected as one of the top projects of the competition.

Anshul leaned back in his chair slowly.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

He hadn't just passed the second round.

He had actually placed among the top participants.

Which meant recognition.

Certificates.

And most importantly, credibility.

Just then his mother walked into the room.

"What happened?"

Anshul turned toward her.

"I got the results."

"And?"

"I made it to the top projects."

Her eyes widened slightly.

"That's wonderful!"

Within minutes the whole family knew.

His grandmother proudly told his grandfather.

His father returned from work and listened quietly while Anshul explained the result.

When he finished, his father nodded.

"Well done."

That simple sentence carried more meaning than any long speech.

His grandfather laughed warmly.

"So our family now has a young inventor."

Anshul smiled modestly.

"It's just a small project."

But deep inside, he understood something important.

This achievement was more than a certificate.

It was proof.

Proof that he could build something valuable.

Proof that he could compete with talented students across the country.

Proof that the future he imagined might actually be possible.

Later that night, Anshul stepped onto the balcony again.

The cool evening breeze brushed against his face.

The city lights of Pune stretched endlessly across the horizon.

He rested his arms on the railing and looked at the sky.

Somewhere far away, across oceans and continents, was San Francisco.

And in that distant city lived the girl whose life would soon change the fate of Genovia.

Mia Thermopolis.

Anshul smiled faintly.

The journey had just begun.

But today, he had taken another important step forward.

And step by step…

He was getting closer to the future he had chosen.
