Chapter 18 – The First Expansion

Over the next few days, Anshul focused entirely on upgrading StudyFlow.

The idea of adding a teacher dashboard had opened a completely new direction for the software. Until now the program had only been designed for students to manage their own study schedules.

But if teachers could also interact with the system, the platform would become far more powerful.

That morning, Anshul arrived early at school and headed straight to the computer lab.

The lab assistant unlocked the room and switched on the rows of desktop computers.

The old CRT monitors flickered to life one by one.

Rahul followed him inside a few minutes later.

"You're here before everyone again," Rahul said.

"I wanted to test something."

Rahul sat beside him while Anshul inserted the USB drive containing the newest version of StudyFlow.

The program loaded slowly on the lab computer.

The interface appeared.

Simple.

Clean.

Reliable.

Anshul opened the experimental version he had worked on the previous night.

The new section appeared on the screen.

Teacher Panel

Rahul leaned closer.

"Whoa."

"It's still basic," Anshul said.

"What does it do?"

"Teachers can create assignments."

He clicked one of the options.

A simple form appeared allowing the teacher to add a subject, deadline, and description.

"Then students receive reminders automatically."

Rahul looked impressed.

"That's actually really useful."

Anshul nodded.

"But it still needs testing."

Several students from the class soon entered the lab.

Within a few minutes, nearly fifteen computers were running StudyFlow.

Anshul explained how the system worked while the students experimented with the program.

Some tried creating schedules.

Others tested the assignment feature.

Within half an hour, feedback began pouring in.

"Can it send notifications earlier?"

"What if two assignments have the same deadline?"

"Can we change color themes?"

Anshul wrote everything down carefully.

Each comment helped improve the program.

After class ended, the teacher who had offered his help walked over.

"So this is the upgraded version?"

"Yes, sir."

The teacher tested the interface for a few minutes.

He created a sample assignment for mathematics.

Within seconds the connected student systems displayed the task.

The teacher smiled.

"That's impressive."

He turned toward Anshul.

"You built this alone?"

"Yes."

The teacher nodded thoughtfully.

"You should continue developing it."

Then he added something interesting.

"Some schools might actually want something like this."

Anshul had already considered that possibility.

But hearing it from a teacher made the idea feel more realistic.

---

That evening, Anshul returned home and immediately updated the program again.

Bug fixes.

Interface improvements.

Better scheduling logic.

The work continued late into the night.

Around ten o'clock, his mother knocked gently on the door.

"You're still working?"

"Just finishing something."

She stepped inside and glanced at the computer screen.

"You've been very busy lately."

Anshul smiled.

"It's interesting work."

She nodded softly.

"Well, don't forget to rest."

After she left, Anshul leaned back in his chair for a moment.

He looked at the updated statistics.

Users: 512

The number had crossed five hundred.

The growth was still small compared to large companies.

But for a student-built software system, it was remarkable.

More importantly, the project was evolving beyond its original purpose.

StudyFlow was no longer just a competition entry.

It was becoming a real platform.

And with every update, the idea of turning it into something bigger felt more possible.

Anshul closed the program and looked at the notebook beside the keyboard.

The page titled StudyFlow Future Plan had grown longer.

New features.

Expansion ideas.

School partnerships.

He added another line at the bottom.

Build something that can help thousands of students.

Then he closed the notebook.

Because tomorrow would bring another day of work.

And every day of effort pushed the project one step further forward.
