Far away from the world, in a
quiet place there is one small hill station that rest between the large
mountains. A lot of tourists, students and families come here everyday to
enjoy. Like them one boy in her teen run away from his toxic house and escape
in that hill station.
He thought, he finally releases
from that toxic environment and he will be happy.
But his destiny standing at
one corner and laughed at him.
In a large city, there is one
big house with huge rooms in it. And there are four people live there- one
father and their two sons and grandfather. They owned sweet shop and they earn
as much the middle-class family earned. One son is around 20 years old and
another son 14 or may be 15 years old. Younger son name is Reham. His mother
died when he was 2 years old.
Reham is normal child. He
doesn't talk much. He is silent kid in his whole family.
One night,
Reham, his grandfather and his
father sitting on table and eating dinner. His elder brother came and said
"APPA, I want to say something".
Father- What?
Elder brother- I want to move
with my friends in apartment.
Reham stop eating and his eyes
filled with fear.
Father angrily- what are you
saying?
Son- move with friends.
Father leaves the table and
goes near to elder son.
Father – why?
Son- only for some time,
please APPA.
APPA- NO
He comes back to his spot and
start eating.
Reham face got worried his
eyes are filled with fear.
Elder son yelled- I want to
move APPA. I... want to leave this house.
APPA stands up and slapped
him. And they started fighting throwing utensil on floor. Grandfather tries to
stop them.
Both are fighting.
Throwing dishes on floor.
Reham stands up and take his step back. He sticks to one corner. He controlled
his tears and said in his mind "calm down Reham, you are strong guy. Calm down.
It's not first time they fight...…".
Reham grows up in that kind of
environment. He saw his father and brother always fighting like this. Not only
his brother and father but also his aunts come over there and fight. Every time
he controlled his tear and just calm himself down.
One day his brother leaves the
house as his father give the permission. He leaves that toxic house and says
"Reham wait for me, I will come back and take you from there".
He left…...
Years passed
Reham grows up he is now 18
years old. His brother lives with his girlfriend and he still in touch with
family. But he never came back.
Reham is still silent kid.
Now in house only his father,
grandfather and he live there. His father mostly stays at shop. He spent most
of his time with his grandfather now.
They watch tv together like-
they watch web series, movies, stays in one room. Eating turn on AC, close the
curtain and turn off the light.
One day his grandfather got
sick and he died in front of Reham.
His brother come back.
Father, brother and aunts
everyone cries. But Reham didn't.
His family waiting for elder
aunt who is coming from train to complete the rituals like burning or
everything.
Everyone cries and neighbours
come and talk with father and brother.
But Reham standing at one
corner like he did in past. He doesn't cry. He just looking at his grandfather
stomach in hope stomach will start moving.
He just standing there and
staring at his grandfather body. And he continuously saying one thing in his
mind "calm down Reham, you are strong guy. Calm down".
His aunt come and they burn
the body, all rituals done. Everyone goes back to their home, but brother is
still there. and he decided to stay there now.
After rituals done Reham
picked up his school bag and goes to room where he stayed with his grandfather.
He entered and he didn't see
his grandfather there, not even his small bed. His eyes filled with tears, but
he wiped it and again he said, "strong guy".
He started his work with full
of tears in his eyes but not a single tear come out of eyes. After some days he
become normal. He lives his life as usual. His brother also lived with them.
And one day their father and
brother starts fight but this time Reham didn't react. He looked at them and
continue his eating. They are fighting and Reham just silent. Not standing at
the corner.
And that same night everyone
sleeps. He wakes up and runs away from the house and catch one bus that goes to
that hill station.
He thought he is free now, he
feels happy.
He gets into bus only 2-3
passengers there. He sists next to window seat, open window and enjoy the wind
blowing. He smiled.
Bus started
Then suddenly one voice
screaming loudly "stopppppp". Bus stop, bus door opens.
One girl entered. He looked at
her. She smiled and said, "thank you so much" and she continuously talking with
conductor.
Reham ignores her.
After seeing her talking
continuously, Reham said "oh god, why she talks that much".
Reham "I hate her. people fall
in love at first sight and I hate her at first sight, oh god my inner peace".
He closed his eyes and wears
headphones and enjoying his ride.
And then that same girl comes
near to him and sit at second seat from his seat. Between them seat is empty.
She looks at the other people
and said "hi".
Then she looks at him.
She pulled his shirt and said
"Hi, are you sleeping?"
He opened his eyes and looked
at her.
He said, "what do you think I
am doing?"
She said happily "sleeping"
Reham- Then.
She smiles and says – are you
going to that hill station, I am also going there. you know it's my dream to go
there by own and especially at night. Finally my dream fullfill".
Reham smile- oh really
Girl- yeah!
Reham- did I ask? Smile
disappeared and straight face.
Girl angrily looks at him and
said – TUNDA.
Reham- what?
Girl- what?
Reham- you said something.
Girl- No
Reham- no I heard, Tuna what
did you said.
They start arguing.
After some time, he closed his
eyes and wear his headphone.
Next morning
Bus stops at mid way at one
small town for rest.
She walks him up.
He comes out. He starts
walking. She starts following her.
She again talks.
He ignored her.
There is small carnival and
she goes to every shop and few swings. While on swings, she gives her bag to
him.
Reham- why, what I am doing,
why she gave me her bag, but if I stole something, idoit.
She's on swing and waved at
him. He ignored her. then he went into a shop and asked for water bottles.
Then he looked at one family-
father, mother and their two sons.
Reham looks at them his eyes
filled with tears. Suddenly she came.
Girl- hey Tunde, you know it's
so enjoyable.
Reham offer him water.
Girl- thank you
Reham- here, your bag.
Girl- wait let's go there, I
am hungry.
They went to small restaurant
and she eats.
He didn't.
Girl- eat.
Reham starts eating but while
eating his heart become heavy and he controlled his tears.
Girl notice that.
Girl- food is yummy.
Reham- yeah in lower voice.
Girl- you want Gulab jamun.
He said yes.
Waiter comes.
Girl- hi, I want ice cream for
me and gulab jamun for this tunda.
He looked at her. she looked
at him.
Waiter left.
He smiled.
Girl looks at him.
Girl- finally you smile.
Reham laughing- you are really
something.
They become friends and they
enjoy the bus trip.
And there is only one stop
after that they will reach at their destination.
Bus stop.
They leave bus.
At some distance, people are
running.
Girl- what happened?
They both went to that side.
And there is one man had accident. he injured badly.
Girl – oh god, let's go help
him.
She went near to that man. But
Reham shows no emotion. He ignores him and walks back towards the bus side.
After some time everything
settle. She came back.
She yelled- Reham.
Reham turn- what?
She- do even have heart?
Reham- what are you saying?
Girl- that guy is dying there,
and we are only young there. all people were old there. you can help but you
ignore.
Reham- I don't know that man,
then why would I help him?
Girl- seriously, I don't like
this behaviour.
Reham- I don't care.
Girl- Reham…
Rehma- what?
Girl- you are suck cold-
hearted.
Reham stays silent and she
left.
She sists near the river on
stone. Nighttime
He went near to her.
Reham- are you angry?
Girl ignores
Reham- I am sorry, but I am
like that. I don't care about other people.
After some silence.
Reham tells about his
grandfather to her.
They again start talking. They
become closer to each other.
Girl- can we stays as friends
after the trip end.
Reham smiles- let me think.
She yelled loudly and they
both start playing.
They become closer more.
They went to bus and they sit
on their seat.
Reham- okay.
Girl- what?
Reham- we can stay friends
after trip.
Girl- really?
Reham- or may be…
Girl- may be?
Reham- may be more than
friends.
Girl looks at him and she
going to say something.
Then suddenly bus got into
accident.
Instructor died.
Another passenger injured but
Reham close to window.
He is badly injured and opens
his eyes and looked at girl.
She half conscious.
Girl- Reham.
Reham- hey. He moved his hand
towards her.
Girl- smile.
Girl- Reham.
Girl holds his hand.
Girl- Reham, are you
listening.
Reham looks at her and smile.
He slowly closed his eyes.
Tears finally coming from his eyes.
he is badly injured.
Girl holds his hand.
Reham cried and cried again.
He cried loudly and he slowly
slowly he closed his eyes and he died.
