The silent night...
A field of morning glories stretched far across like a sea. The pale light and their soft violet petals were trembling in the breeze.
In the middle of the field, there was a girl lying.
In a white dress that turned red. Soaked in blood, staining both her and the white petals that had only just begun to bloom. The contrast was so beautiful and cruel at the same time.
Purple and red mixed with each other, and life was slipping away little by little.
Her finger twitched a little.
Her weak breath escaped her body.
Above her, the calm sky, as if the world had decided this moment didn't matter at all.
But to her... it was everything.
Her eyes, unfocused, searched for someone to be there, but there was only empty sky.
Her eyes were filled with hope and waiting.
A faint, fragile voice slipped through her mouth.
"As promised... Ren..."
The wind passed through the flowers, carrying her words away like they meant nothing.
A tear rolled down the side of her face, disappearing into her hair.
"You said... you would come..."
Her breathing grew shallow with every second.
But still, she was smiling.
It wasn't a happy one, nor a sad one.
It was just acceptance...
Acceptance of death.
And one final question she asked,
"Wasn't it... a lie?"
The wind swayed the morning glories gently.
But the petals broke down.
