Hearing the commotion from afar, Estelle rushed over. Upon arriving, she saw her daughter, whom she had been searching for, straddling Eros, frantically shaking his head.
Instantly, she was enraged; her once gentle face was now icy.
"Undine! Get up! How could you bully your brother!"
Hearing her mother's voice, Undine's anger vanished instantly, replaced by fear and terror. She jerked to her feet, trying to run.
"Undine, stop right there!" Estelle, seeing her daughter trying to escape, immediately shouted angrily.
Undine froze, head drooping like a defeated hen. Estelle hurried over.
Looking at his daughter, whose personality seemed to resemble someone else's, he was furious. He said sternly,
"Why didn't you go to school today?"
Undine lowered her head and stammered, "Mr. Borok's lessons are so boring."
Her voice trailed off, until it was almost inaudible.
"You skip class just because it's boring? Look at your brother, he's two years younger than you...""He's already finished all his etiquette lessons, how come he doesn't get bored? You're the older sister, you should be setting a good example for your brother." Estelle looked at her daughter with exasperation.
Hearing her mother praise her brother, Undine glanced at Eros and saw him winking and making faces at her, looking smug.
She was instantly furious and about to pounce on him for revenge, but then heard Estelle scold her:
"Undine, are you going to hit him? What if you shake your brother like that and he gets hurt?" Undine immediately stopped moving, withdrew her hand, and continued to lower her head.
Estelle then turned to Eros and asked with concern, "Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" Eros shook his head: "I'm fine, Mom! My sister was just playing with me." Looking at her obedient and sensible son, and then at her unruly daughter beside her, she was instantly filled with rage:
"Look at your brother, and look at yourself!" Undine turned her head away, pretending not to hear, and muttered to herself:"You tattletale, just wait till I get my hands on you!" Soon, Undine was lifted up by the back of her collar by Estelle, much to Eros's astonishment.
While Undine wasn't fat, her already slender figure was certainly not light.
She was easily carried away by Estelle's delicate arm with just one hand? He found it hard to believe.
Despite being constantly interrupted, he hadn't forgotten his purpose.
With a heart full of unanswered questions, he continued towards the library.
Hopefully, he'd make more discoveries today, the mystical side, hehehehe.
...To be honest, this was his first time visiting his own family's library.
So, seeing the massive building before him, he couldn't help but marvel at his family's wealth once again.
He couldn't imagine how the locals, in this technologically backward old society, had managed to build such a vast and exquisite structure.
"But hehe! From now on, it's all mine, all mine!" Without thinking further, he stretched out his hands, intending to forcefully push open the heavy door, only to find that pushing it open...Unexpectedly relaxed.
However, what puzzled him was that he'd heard the library was staffed, but upon entering, he saw no one at the counter, and no one in sight.
He'd originally intended to ask about the location of the history books, but now it seemed that idea was futile.
Oh well! He'd just have to find it himself.
He trudged along, looking at each bookshelf one by one, his short legs scanning the rows of books from bottom to top: "How to Attract a Noblewoman's Attention," "How to Get Along with a Noblewoman," "How to Win a Noblewoman's Heart"...
What, what are all these things? This is absurd!
After searching extensively, he found no history books, but a whole bunch of random, miscellaneous books.
To his surprise, the library actually had quite a few novels.
However, most of them were chivalrous biographies.
He picked out a few and flipped through them casually, discovering that most were about knights rescuing princesses, only for the princesses to marry princes in the end, but even so, the knights remained devoted to protecting their princesses.
What kind of sheep is this? Just looking at it makes me angry. I shoved the book back in my hand; I was afraid if I kept reading, it would...His 2002 stroke was almost uncontrollable.
However, seeing the book *The Treasure of Pirate King Sally* brought him a pleasant surprise.
The book opened with a description of the seas surrounding the Croatian mainland, something he had never known before.
After all, his territory was deep inland, thousands of miles from the sea, so no one had ever told him about the ocean—partly because it was unnecessary, and partly because he was still young.
He hadn't even finished learning the geography of his own territory; thinking about seas thousands of miles away seemed unrealistic.
Therefore, his knowledge of the world's oceans was extremely limited, practically a complete blank.
After reading the book's description of the surrounding seas, he was greatly encouraged.
Because all the seas described in the book, after sailing 500 kilometers outwards, would eventually connect to the same sea—the Misty Sea.
And the book described the Misty Sea as being perpetually shrouded in mist.
Any life that enters the Misty Sea will be lost in this ocean; less than one in a hundred will return alive.
For millennia, countless extraordinary individuals have attempted to conquer that sea, but all have failed. Therefore, that sea is also known as the God's Sea.The Sea of Abandonment.
Eros was somewhat surprised. After all, according to the book, didn't it mean that all of humanity on the Croatian continent only possessed sea areas extending 500 kilometers beyond the coastline?
This was truly unbelievable. Fog at sea was normal, but for it to linger year-round was very unusual.
Not to mention the fog's range, remaining consistently 500 kilometers beyond the coastline.
This didn't seem like a force that nature could possess. Could this be some kind of mysterious event in this world? It was truly unbelievable.
This discovery excited him even more. Sure enough, this world had a mystical side, and it was so close to humanity.
Although he had made a discovery, he didn't impulsively rush to try his luck in the Misty Sea.
Didn't the book say that only one in a hundred who entered the Misty Sea survived? The world was vast; wasn't living better?
After reading the geographical introduction in the preface, Eros lost interest in the rest of the content. He put the book back and continued searching for other related books.
This time, he broadened his search, including books describing the Misty Sea.
He looked at the bookshelves one by one.In the past, this progress was indeed too slow; normally, the servants on duty in the library could be called upon to help with the search.
But today, for some reason, none of the people who were supposed to be on duty have been seen, and I'm all alone in the vast library.
