Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 A World That Seems Extraordinary

He was somewhat surprised by his own abilities, even though a small body housed the soul of an adult.

So, he could understand feigning mathematical genius to fool the ancients; after all, he wasn't a slacker who had skipped nine years of compulsory education.

But his prowess in other areas was unbelievable.

He discovered that his memory was now exceptionally good. While photographic memory might be an exaggeration, he could definitely remember most things after seeing them only once.

This made him wonder, "Could this be a transmigrator's cheat code?"

But he couldn't dwell on those thoughts. Today, he made a significant discovery.

He had found clues to the mystical realm, specifically clues to the ancient mystical realm.

While reading "A General History of the Croatian Continent," he came across a passage that roughly translated to:

"After the Elven race left the Croatian continent en masse, a war broke out among the various kingdoms. This war lasted for over three hundred years, directly marking the end of the Second Era and the gradual rise of the Third Era."

The Croatian continent was the name of the land he currently inhabited.

As for the elves, according to his memories from his previous life...This race seems inextricably linked to the mystical realm; they don't look like normal humans at all.

A history book like *A General History of the Croatian Continent* wouldn't fabricate a race.

Unfortunately, the Second and Third Ages are incredibly distant, with very few records of events from those periods.

An age is ten thousand years, and we're already in the Fifth Age.

The Elves left twenty to thirty thousand years ago; it's remarkable that there are even a few fragmentary accounts of such a long period.

What puzzles him most is that, according to the age scale, humanity in this world has been developing for fifty thousand years, far longer than Earth's civilization.

Yet, why is their most advanced invention still the steam engine?

This baffles him. If this were Earth, fifty thousand years would have been enough to propel them out of the Milky Way!

Ugh! This is perplexing! But thankfully, he finally discovered a clue: this world has a mystical aspect, or rather, it once had one.

This discovery excited him somewhat; after all, what was the point of just being a duke who idled away his days in comfort? This world was boring.Very well.

At this rate of only developing a steam engine every 50,000 years, by the time they figure out cell phones and the internet, his grave will probably be long gone.

Because of the discovery, he was in a pretty good mood today.

With a book tucked under his arm, he hummed an unknown tune as he walked with an air of nonchalance.

He walked while lost in thought, pondering all sorts of random things, when suddenly a voice called out beside him interrupted his reverie.

"Little Eros! Have you seen your sister?"

Eros was his name in this life; his full name was Eros Lenka Nos.

Eros turned his head and saw a person with long, platinum-gold hair cascading over her shoulders.

She wore a flowing white dress, her face delicate and pretty, her eyes gentle as water.

It was her mother in this life, Estelle Eureka Nos.

As for her sister, she was naturally Undine Lenca Nos; according to the laws of this world, she was his only sister.

As for his other half-siblings, they were, after all, illegitimate children.Estelle wouldn't mistreat him, but she wasn't particularly affectionate either.

Eros shook his head. "I've been reading in my room, and I'm going to the library to find some books now. Ugh, cough cough! My sister didn't come to see me today, and I don't know where she is." He almost called out his little sister's name, but thankfully he reacted quickly and covered it up.

Estelle didn't seem to notice anything amiss. She glanced at the books tucked under Eros's arm, bent down, kissed him on the forehead, and praised him:

"My little Eros is so good, unlike your sister. Mr. Boroka just told me that Undine didn't go to class again today, and he doesn't know where she went."

Feeling the childlike words, Eros felt a little embarrassed, but it felt really good.

He immediately said, "It's normal for my sister to not like studying since she's still young. She'll definitely be different when she's my age." Estelle looked at the young boy in front of her with a strange expression. Why did he say that?

"My sister is still young. When she's your age, your sister will be two years older than you!" Looking at the precocious Eros, she was both amused and exasperated. She straightened up and patted Eros's head. She had to continue looking for Undine; skipping class all the time wasn't something a lady should do.

Watching that tall, beautiful figure gradually disappear into the distance, Eros was truly baffled.

Estelle was undeniably stunning from every angle, yet with such a beautiful woman at home, her father still preferred to go out and philander.

He just couldn't understand it! Sigh!

He sighed and continued his nonchalant stroll towards the library, but he hadn't gone far when a dark figure leaped out of the flowerbed and tackled him.

Eros looked at Undine straddling his waist, noticing the leaves stuck to various parts of her body, and immediately understood.

No wonder Estelle couldn't find him; she was hiding in the roadside flowerbed.

Undine glared fiercely at her younger brother, whom she had tackled, her tone incredibly fierce (really incredibly fierce):

"Tell me, yesterday did you tell Mom that I ruined her carefully arranged flower arrangement, making me stand in the corner as punishment for an hour?" Eros looked at Undine straddling him, his expression fierce, but perhaps because he had perfectly inherited..His mother's stunning beauty...

So even though she looked fierce, she was still incredibly cute to him, making him want to give her a pat. His tone was fierce, but it couldn't hide the soft, adorable quality in his voice.

Such an adorable blonde loli, especially since she was his older sister, who could resist teasing her?

So he said matter-of-factly, "That's right, it was me who said it. Didn't you break it?" Undine, looking at her brother pinned beneath her, who showed no remorse and remained arrogant, grew increasingly furious. She roared, "It really was you! See how I deal with you!"

As she spoke, she pulled a bottle of ink from her pocket, clearly intending to draw something on Eros's face.

Before she could even begin, Eros said,

"If you draw it, I'll tell Mom that you're the one who lost that necklace she couldn't find last time."

"You know, it was a gift from Grandma. Mom was heartbroken for a long time after it went missing." Undine's expression froze; the ink in her hand suddenly lost its flavor.

But looking at the still arrogant Eros beneath her, she was so angry, so very angry..Ugh, I feel like my lungs are about to explode with anger.

She tossed the ink bottle aside, slammed her hands on Eros's shoulders, and shook him violently, gritting her teeth and muttering,

"You damned tattletale, ahhhhhh!!!" Despite being shaken so much, Eros was actually in a pretty good mood.

"I love seeing you want revenge on me, but you're helpless against me."
