He fear of the isolated nothingness where life met the end and death remain as end itself—he desire to achieve the path of immortality so he could experience the world for eternity without fearing of something called 'Nothing'.

The alarm that sit next to him on the drawer went off and cause a noisy sound that irritated most people from their peaceful sleep, but to him—it was just a usual thing to ever happened in his life as he had adapted to lots of environment in his whole life since he was young.

The man stood up from the bed as his feets contact with the floor, he stare towards the glimmering light radiating from the source itself known as 'Star' but everyone on earth called it the sun. The blazing flames yet it isn't truly what we called as a burning fire, it actually isn't. People called it the process of nuclear fusion as it taking its place in its core. The sun is nothing more but just bunch up create our from a big ball of gas similar to every single stars out there in the boundless space.

The year is 1994, and our protagonist goes by the name, 'Karl Friedrich'. Karl is a middle age man around 35 years old, he was working as a psychiatrist when he was 20—however an incident happened when he was around 27 years old.

His car that he drove was crashed by a train out of unexpected thing that happened to cause his car unable to be control—the steering wheel malfunction and gave him only two options. Either he continue to drive the car until he drown in the nearby lake or he crash right into the train in order to stopping his car from keep moving forward uncontrollably. So he chose to hit the train instead.

He succeeded doing so with just minor injury, his head hurt from the impact as his brain shaking which causing his frontal lobe. The car was going at the speed of 128 km/h and he press the break pedal to decelerate the velocity of the car which he succeed by reducing it below 121 km/h.

Although he survived with minor injury from his frontal lobe down to his right hand with small bruises—the incident from that day caused him to change slightly, not slightly to be honest but rather quite a bit off. He is still him but he was no longer having his kind hearted personality that everyone knew about him.

His face no longer showing somekind of expressions but rather unusual face that look like a man with lost soul, his emotions decrease rapidly approaching nothing as he nearly having no sense of empathy or sympathy—and yet, the other aspects form the frontal lobe of his brain that supposed to be slightly changed, didn't shifted into something else like his personality.

Because of the incident, he no longer could feel connections as he does not know how to feel it or understand it—he could see or know when someone is sad, anger, hate, love or any some sort of emotions/expressions they showed. But he can't feel the same way as them, the feeling is just like being isolated into an island without colors. Only blankness and nothingness there, no light, no brightness, no happiness—only nothing and detachment remain.

Karl walk downstairs as he went straight into the kitchen to prepare himself some breakfast to go to work, before he make any foods, he ponder to himself.

"What should I cook for myself, should I make my own meal or just went to a nearby store and buy some lunches for me instead of wasting my energy?" he ponder while he think, eventually he decide to do nothing and went to the bathroom to take a bath.

As he finished taking a bath, he walk out and put on some clothes and bring his stuff as he steps outside from his house—the sky shine bright making his eyes hurt a bit from the radiating light from the sun.

"Why does the sky need to be this bright, why not foggy or something else instead. It's boring to having the same day everyday." Karl Friedrich nonchalantly said.

When he arrived at his work place, he took a seat on and begin typing on the keyboard as more paperwork were given to him—when it's finally break time, he remain on his spot while he thought to himself.

"Why do I feel like something off nowadays, as if there's something... something different, but what is it?" Karl ponder.

When he was about to stand up from his seat, suddenly his office friends give him a surprise by saying to him loudly.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY MAN!" they all brought the birthday cake closer to him as they ask him to blow the candle's, Karl stare at them blankly but just do as they said.

They cut the cake and separate it from one person to another until the last piece is given to Karl, they all eat the cake while having a conversation happily. Karl observe them while eating his last piece of cake using a metal spoon.

Suddenly, one of the workers ask Karl about something that they're curious about him—"Since you're basically like having no emotions or expressions left within you, Karl. Does that meant you can't feel any pain like physically, physiologically or mentally?"

All of them patiently waiting for his response form the question, Karl thought to himself about it as well. But he already knew the answer—he calmly respond to the person who asked him the question.

"I don't know, I don't know the answer for it because the last time I was hurt when I was in the accident—what I know is that, I can't feel anything anymore emotionally. However, that does not meant I can't feel pain physically, I might can feel it but couldn't express it in emotions or expressions. Perhaps the only way I could express it, is by suppressing it inside of me." Karl calmly reply while continue to eating his last piece of cake.
