A bloodstained Uchiha boy walked toward the main gate, carrying three human heads.
All three heads wore masks, their faces impossible to identify.
This boy was Rengoku, rushing back from Kusagakure after being rescued by Muku and Ryuzetsu.
He traded a single piece of intel for a special rapid treatment.
He never dared stop, not even to change clothes, heading straight back to Konoha.
When he reached the village gate, gatekeepers Kamizuki Izumo and Hagane Kotetsu stepped up immediately to confirm his identity.
“Uchiha Rengoku, mission in Kusagakure.” While flipping through the file in his hand, Hagane Kotetsu gave the heads a quick look.
“Did something unexpected happen?”

“Looks like I made it in time.” Hearing the clan meeting had just ended, Rengoku finally let out a breath of relief.
He had been rushing nonstop, didn’t even change clothes, and managed to make it back before the night of the clan extermination.
The Uchiha clan meeting had wrapped up already. Konoha had learned from Itachi about the Uchiha coup plan.
Danzo had likely already ordered Itachi to wipe out the clan.
Itachi was probably contacting Tobi these past few days, preparing to move.
But now that he’d made it back, there was still a chance to gamble.
