Synopsis
In the realm of Kiyorashira, where ancient powers shape the balance of the world, darkness begins to rise once more. Yoshiro Bones, a legendary warrior bound to the ancient sword Seriyu, stands as one of the last defenders of a forgotten legacy. Alongside Rei Cavendish, the future Queen of Kiyorashira, and her sister Verity Cavendish, a wielder of absolute teleportation, the trio are drawn into a growing conflict that threatens the very foundation of their world. Their enemy is a being known only as The Unknown Nemesis — a mysterious entity who wields the forbidden blade Darkblade, a weapon forged in ancient times to kill heroes and erase legends. Unlike any foe before him, the Nemesis possesses the power of pure darkness and the knowledge of ancient wars long erased from history. His goal is not conquest alone, but the corruption of Kiyorashira itself, plunging the realm into eternal shadow. As the Nemesis strikes across the land, ancient secrets resurface: forgotten prophecies, lost heroes, and the truth behind the legendary swords. With every battle, Yoshiro is forced to confront the legacy of his ancestors, while Rei struggles between her duty and her role as a warrior. Verity, caught between loyalty and fear, discovers that her power may be the key to either saving the world — or destroying it. The war that follows is not just a battle of strength, but of identity, destiny, and legacy. Because this time, the darkness does not seek to rule the world. It seeks to erase it. And only the heirs of the Ancients stand in its way.

Chapter 1 - 1 - Racing the Sun

Yoshiro Bones groaned, hand immediately going to cover his eyes, as the bright sunlight of the morning day rose through his window.

He instinctively went to close them, then frowned. If his calculations were correct {and they normally were), the sun shouldn't have risen for another hour... why was it up already?

Oh no.

He jumped out of bed, running as fast as he could to the showers, grabbing along the way some clothes he had left outside the day before. This was bad. Really bad. Of all the days he could have ever considered oversleeping... today he really shouldn't have. It was, quite literally, the most important day of his life. Today he was going to be officially knighted by the king of Kiyorashira, and given his role in the royal army.

Most soldiers would have never made it this far, yet Yoshiro was no ordinary teenager. Thanks to him being, quite literally, from another world, he had excelled at most of the challenges that Kiyorashira had thrown at him. His senses had been strengthened, enhanced, one could say. He could run faster, or punch harder than an average Kiyorashiran. However, powers and enhanced abilities never came, well, fully trained. One has to enhance themselves before they can even fully understand the nature of their abilities... and in Yoshiro's case, it was no different. Yoshiro had undergone most of his afternoons and nights training nonstop, just managing to use the slightest of his powers to just barely manage the high expectations of the royal family. They truly could be very demanding. Of course, Yoshiro wasn't exactly given much of a choice.

Due to the nature of how he had arrived in Kiyorashira, The King and Queen had declared that Yoshiro would have an entire year to prove his worth, or he would be exiled out, to lands unknown to even the oldest of citizens. To a 17-year-old teenager who was very confused about where he even was, this sounded like they had just ordered his execution. So, he had trained, and here he was now. About to be judged if he was worthy of being a knight...or cast out forever.

You could say he was just a bit stressed.

Yoshiro dashed out of the house he had been given, running at high speed, narrowly dodging a dog passing by.

"Watch It!" The owner yelled out, yet Yoshiro didn't turn back, only yelling, "SORRY!" over his shoulder. Ironically, it was heavy traffic hour in Kiyorashira. Taking a taxi was not a good idea. Luckily, Yoshiro was only around 10 minutes away from the Royal Palace. He should be able to make it without being late...if he ran. Using his powers, he could make it just in time.

Yet, it really wasn't that simple.

If anyone even considered using powers in Kiyorashira without having a good enough reason to do so, the authorities would be after them in a second. The minimum penalty would be a night in a cell.

Yoshiro considered his options. He could ignore the literal law, and use his powers to arrive on time, or he could be a good citizen and arrive late to a meeting with the Royal Family.

 Not much of a choice.

He immediately began running, feeling the thrill as his powers activated. It truly was a unique feeling. One could describe it as when you've just eaten your favorite food, and are eagerly awaiting the dessert. Others could describe it as a thrill of adrenaline. It really was unique for everyone. For Yoshiro, however, it was the thrill of being free, and knowing that nobody would even dare to stop him.

He ran past the cars, all jammed and stuck on the road, all loudly demanding to pass. Some things would never change, even in another world. People would always have similar traits.

Dashing past everyone was a nice feeling for Yoshiro. He loved the expressions on people's faces as they saw a teenager run past faster than any normal human should be able. Of course, looking at people sometimes backfired, as he wasn't paying attention to the road-

CRASH.

"Ow..." Yoshiro slowly got up, rubbing his head. "I'm so sorry-" he began, then realized what he was talking to.

A lamp post.

"Oh." he muttered to nobody in particular. "I'm an absolute idiot-"

"You're not." Came a voice from behind him. "You crashed into me, and I would call you stupid."

Yoshiro whirled around... and slammed his head onto another lamp post.

"See? Proving my point." The voice continued.

Blinking rapidly, Yoshiro quickly cleared his eyes and staggered back up, taking care not to slam his head for the third time. He thought he recognized that voice...and sure enough, he did, as his vision cleared.

"Alexa!" He called out, finally seeing the girl's face, the face which had literally been etched into his memory for the last year, not because he had a crush on her, but because of...

"You absolute idiot." Alexa rubbed her head. "I train you for the last year, drill you non-stop, quite literally force you to learn the true value of everything you possibly needed, all in preparation for this day... and you dared to oversleep?"

"Uh, well-"

"Oh, and if that isn't enough, you're also using your powers. Which you know is illegal. I told you this, several times. Look at the chaos you've caused-"

"Hey!" Yoshiro grimaced. "I can still make it on time, if i use my powers, or, like I personally call them, abilities. Keep on lecturing me and we'll both have a terrible impression on the Royals. Just...forget you saw me using powers, and we are all good, ok?"

"No! Not ok!" Alexa was pacing around. "You using your powers creates an energy signature that can literally be detected miles away! You might be enhanced much more than us, but no power comes for free, remember?"

Yoshiro sighed. "Alexa, you're the only one who bothers checking power frequencies. Nobody else even has the genius mind to even dare consider creating a scale for powers. I swear, sometimes you forget that you're the only person in Kiyorashira with this level of intelligence. Oh, and don't forget, you're my teacher. Just let me pass this one time, and we can make an amazing impression on the royals, ok?"

Alexa hesitated, then sighed. "Fine. Just don't make it too obvious-YOSHIRO!"

He was already gone.

-

Narrowly dodging the crowds of people outside, Yoshiro made it to the front gate.

"Identification?" A guard, who was posted outside, asked.

Yoshiro simply raised his head to look at him, and the guard looked away.

"Should have known it would be you. Nobody else is stupid enough to use powers. The King and Queen are expecting you." He looked at his watch. "You're late."

"I know, I know." Yoshiro muttered.

The guard stepped aside, eyes back to looking forward. Yoshiro gave a nod out of respect, and walked through. He wasn't stupid enough to run through the palace.

Just as his foot stepped past the threshold, he heard the guard cough.

"Something wrong?" he said, risking a look back.

"Oh. Nothing at all." The guard responded, eyes completely forward. "I wish you luck meeting the princesses. Pray that Blue isn't around, for your own sake."

"Wh-what?" Yoshiro's confidence crumbled. "Princesses? Blue? What do you mean?"

The guard gave no response, only looking forward, almost as if he had never said anything.

Yoshiro hesitated only for a split second more, then continued walking. Yet the damage had been done. He was nervous.

Being nervous now, could end, quite literally, with his death.
