I walked away from the restaurant.
Streets, alleys, I ran.
I tried to find any nearby shop to call.
But it was no use. It was New Year's Eve, and the place Michael had chosen was a bit far.

She called Michael.
She asked me what happened.
"Thieves robbed me, and when I saw their faces, they used a knife."
I asked her about Michael.
She said he came and went out to make a call.
I told her to call him and to stop crying.
I removed the blanket to see how much he was hurt.
There were a lot of bandages and a little pain.
I think they gave me too much anesthetic.
She and Michael came back.
"Honey, I think I'm in terrible pain. Could you call the doctor?" I told her.
"Michael can treat you."
"No, I want the doctor who saw me when I was brought here."
"Okay," she said, and left.
"Michael, they were trained."
"And how do you know that?"
"I train within the company, and I know how to deal with trained people."
"Okay."
"And I go to the restaurant, to the parking lot, and get my car and the gifts."
"Were you at the restaurant?"
"Yes, but I didn't want the child to get hurt."
"Okay."
"Michael, death is easier for both of us, but that child is innocent."
"I know."
"Either end the revenge or end the relationship first."
"I'll speed things up."
"And as for who targeted me, don't try to find out who they are now."
