Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Momousagi Fights Luna, Swordsman Is Ineffective

"Alright, it's time to move. If we leave now, we should be able to meet Luna at the Execution Platform."

Tokikake took a deep breath and immediately said to Momousagi.

Because he knew very well it was time to work.

"According to the original plan, you take all the Marine Soldiers and form a circular encirclement nearby. Don't let the other Pink Hat Pirates members enter. I will deal with Luna. After all, this time we are only testing, testing whether Luna's ability is truly this absolute? That the Void can immunize her from all attacks."

Momousagi said with a serious expression.

She hadn't forgotten the purpose of their visit. She was currently considered the strongest Swordsman in the Marine, and a Pure Swordsman at that. Kizaru didn't count, as he used a Light Sword, not a Famous Blade.

She was well aware that the purpose of Fleet Admiral Sengoku sending her this time was to have her use pure Sword Intent, and the Slashes and Sword Aura produced by it, to see if Luna's ability could truly achieve Void Immunity against them.

"Don't worry, but you'd better be quick. Those other women are not easy to deal with. Four Mythical Zoans, three Legends, and her two Deputies are no worse than us. I can't hold them off for long."

Tokikake first expressed affirmation, but quickly became embarrassed. After all, if the other members of the Pink Hat Pirates arrived, he wouldn't be able to stop them, especially that Black-clad Female Swordsman and the Silver-haired Female Scientist wearing strange armor.

"I know that, so we'll leave after the test. But I don't believe there is such an absolute ability in this world."

Momousagi glanced at him and said.

However, it was clear from her words that she was full of confidence in her swordsmanship and believed she could certainly strike Luna.

Of course, however confident she was now, she would be just as despairing later.

"It's just a shame that we don't have the capability to take down this Pirate Crew."

Tokikake shook his head, feeling a little regretful.

But what he said was true. With at least four Vice Admiral-level experts, two Reserve Admirals, and Luna, who had already reached the Admiral/Emperor Level, they truly couldn't defeat them. Even without Luna, they probably couldn't take down the Pink Hats.

"Seriously, when did the East Blue produce such a powerful and tricky Pirate Crew? Are they really a Rookie Pirate Crew? Is this really the East Blue? And they happen to be such a group of young girls."

Momousagi also felt helpless, smiling bitterly.

At the same time, a thought similar to Garp's earlier idea arose in her heart: how great would it be if this group joined the Marine.

After all, this group had both strength and abilities.

Finally, Momousagi shook her head, dismissing those thoughts. She immediately walked out of the Office with Tokikake, where Marine Soldiers had been waiting for a long time, and headed toward the Execution Platform...

Meanwhile, after asking for directions, Luna was already not far from the Execution Platform.

Suddenly, the Headset in her ear rang. Shiro had specially created it to maintain contact, and of course, it was also at Luna's suggestion. After all, when moving on the sea, especially when moving freely in a Town like this, maintaining contact at all times was very important.

Luna answered quickly.

"Luna, I saw Marines passing outside through the shop Window, and they are heading straight for the Execution Platform. Be careful."

It was Nojiko contacting her proactively. Simply put, she had discovered the Marine's tracks—or more accurately, the Marine's movement was too large, making it hard for people around not to notice.

"Do you want us to come help?"

The Girls immediately asked through the Headset Communication if they should come over.

"No need. I plan to handle this myself this time. You just focus on your own business, and don't forget to meet up on time this afternoon."

Luna directly refused. She had said before that she wanted to personally deal with this test from the Marine and give those guys a painful lesson.

Hearing this, the other girls stopped worrying and busied themselves with their tasks. Since Luna said so, it meant she was capable of dealing with the Marine. If their Captain wanted to have some fun by herself, then they would let her.

The Communication in the Headset ended rather abruptly.

Luna had already spotted the Execution Platform and quickly walked over.

She looked at the collapsed structure before her, which bore not only the marks left by over 20 years of time but also the traces of a recent lightning strike.

Most importantly, it was just a Wooden Frame. The Execution Platform used for the great Pirate King Roger's execution was merely this crude Wooden Frame.

She recalled that his son Ace, during the Marineford War, at least had a tall Stone Platform, and that execution took place directly at Marineford. Thinking of this, Luna found it somewhat amusing.

But at the same time, she saw in her mind that her first mission had entered a five-minute countdown.

In that brief moment, while she pondered, half a minute had already passed.

Suddenly, her Observation Haki helped her detect a large number of presences approaching from afar and heading toward her location.

"They're here? You actually came knocking on my door proactively. Then I'll greet you first."

Luna looked over and saw a large number of Marine Soldiers rushing toward her on the distant Road, along with the two leaders at the front. She recognized them immediately: weren't they the Marine's only two Reserve Admirals, Momousagi and Tokikake?

A cold smile appeared on Luna's face, carrying a hint of Killing Intent.

She immediately launched her move, and Void Energy began to condense.

Gliza's strongest skill in its Second Form: Gliza Double Helix. The Void Energy fully condensed in front of Luna's chest, producing and firing a Beam of Dark Thunderstorm Energy. It was as thick as a large water barrel, and its power looked incredibly soul-stirring and oppressive. The target, of course, was the Marine heading toward her.

The Marines were immediately shocked, including the surrounding Civilians who hadn't managed to evacuate yet. Their eyes were filled with horror and disbelief.

But the Marines, in particular, were stunned. They hadn't even arrived yet, and the opponent had already launched an attack proactively.

As if sensing the arrival of death, the Marine Soldiers' eyes were instantly filled with fear, and some were trembling and had already fallen to the ground.

"Tokikake, together!"

"Understood."

The two Marine Reserve Admirals quickly stepped forward and attacked simultaneously. They extended their hands, releasing Armament Haki outward to form a colorless Barrier.

But they ultimately overestimated themselves. How could the Armament Haki defense of two Reserve Admirals withstand Luna's attack, which was comparable to Four Emperors-level power?

The red Beam, rotating like a spiral, struck their defense. It lasted only a few seconds before instantly shattering their Armament Haki. The two were startled and quickly dodged to either side, along with the Marine Soldiers behind them, but some people couldn't escape.

The Beam swept directly across them. The Marine Soldiers who couldn't escape didn't even manage to scream before they were swallowed by the flames generated by the explosion, reduced entirely to Ashes.

They were deader than dead.

With this single strike from Luna, at least over three hundred Marines had died.

"This... How could this happen?"

Tokikake said in disbelief, looking at the scene.

To fail before even starting! The Elite Force the Marine brought this time only numbered a little over 1,000 people, and now 3/10 of them were already dead.

At the same time, he hadn't expected Luna to attack proactively.

"You hateful fiend."

Momousagi drew her sword, Konpira. She was furious; of course, she was—nearly half of the elite Marines she brought had been wiped out just like that. Moreover, the Marine had always been the one to launch proactive attacks against pirates. When did it become a pirate's turn to strike first? She couldn't tolerate such provocative behavior that massacred a large number of Marines.

She used Soru, arriving in front of Luna at extreme speed. Her entire body's Sword Intent condensed onto her blade, and she immediately slashed down.

But Luna looked at her with eyes full of disdain, or rather, confidence in her own ability.

As a golden light flashed in her eyes and a purple light shone on her body, she evaded the strike. Just as the Slash was about to hit her, Luna appeared behind and to the side of Momousagi and swung a backhand punch.

The punch landed directly on Momousagi's back. The powerful force instantly caused Momousagi to stumble several steps forward uncontrollably, nearly making her fall to the ground.

She turned and swung her sword, but Luna once again used her ability to evade, appeared at her side, and threw a punch that struck her Abdomen.

The blow sent her flying. Momousagi, who finally managed to stop, pressed her hand against her stomach, enduring the intense pain, but she still couldn't help spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"Hey, is this the strength of a Marine Reserve Admiral? So trashy."

Luna teased, wearing a scornful expression as she looked at Momousagi.

"Damn it! Don't underestimate me, and don't look down on the Marine!"

Momousagi roared furiously. At the same time, her own Sword Intent erupted. She swung her sword, unleashing a seemingly incredibly sharp Sword Aura.

"Space Distortion," Luna muttered. This time, she used another ability, similar to Void Body, but this was the Space Distortion skill generated by the Fission of Void Energy, achieving the ability of Instant Movement over short distances.

In essence, it was quite similar, and could be considered a Passive Skill.

Just as the Sword Aura was about to hit her, Luna instantly appeared in the air. The Sword Aura, instead, shot directly toward Tokikake and the others.

The Marines behind Tokikake were startled. Fortunately, as fellow Marine Reserve Admirals, although Momousagi and Tokikake had a strange private relationship, they understood each other's strength very well.

Tokikake immediately stepped forward and threw a punch augmented with Armament Haki, blocking and ultimately shattering Momousagi's Sword Aura. However, he didn't feel good; his entire arm was numb.

"What?"

Momousagi was stunned upon seeing this. Did that mean even her Slash—the Sword Aura generated by a Swordsman's Sword Intent Eruption—was useless?

The opponent could achieve complete immunity relying on the so-called Void. Her attacks seemed to have no effect whatsoever, and she had almost injured her own Ally instead.
