"Why are you looking at me like that?" Kaisar asked as Vero sat beside him, staring at his legs stretched out straight on the bed.
"Do your legs hurt, Daddy? Did you fall?"
Kaisar smiled. "Yes, I fell down the stairs. That's why I always warn you to be careful when you go up."
Vero frowned. "Is that why you installed a lift in Germany? Because you're not strong enough to climb the stairs?"
"What?" Kaisar laughed. "No way. I installed it because it looks cool!"
They laughed together. Amara wasn't there; she had been called away for work. She was incredibly busy, but Kaisar wasn't about to hold her back.
"Mommy said you guys are getting married. Is it true?" Vero asked.
"What do you think? Do you approve? If we marry, we'll live in the same house. you won't need to go to the hospital anymore because I'll be the one monitoring your progress."
The boy went silent. A wide grin spread across his face, yet something still seemed to weigh on his mind.
