Sora, Yejin, and Hanna had fallen asleep in Sora's backyard by the beach after drinking far too much while celebrating her birthday. What was supposed to be a simple dinner had turned into an all-night celebration filled with laughter, stories, and enough alcohol to knock all three women unconscious before sunrise.
Among them, Sora was the last to wake up.
The sun was already high in the sky, warming her skin despite the large beach umbrella positioned beside her lounge chair. Someone had thoughtfully draped a blanket over her during the night, shielding her from the ocean breeze while she slept.
At first, it was the sound of barking that stirred her awake.
Jangmi, Teddy, and Beonggae were running wildly across the sand, their excited barks mixing with the crashing waves. Sora frowned and buried her face deeper into the pillow, wanting five more minutes of sleep.
Then she heard another sound.
A tiny voice.
A familiar voice.
