Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

"There's something more I want to mention." As Alexis drew out a huge book and a gold pen, she cast a bemused gaze about the room. "Everyone in the room knows that changing a human's fate is a grave sin. Each record is reviewed by me, and I make the final decision on who deserves another shot."

There was a silent hush over the room as Samantha looked back at Sean with a slight smile and put her thumb up.

"Samantha!" Alexis said with a stern voice, "you are charged with plagiarism to alter an executive-level signature, thus changing the destiny of Sean."

As Sean saw his Guardian Angel, he sat there with his mouth gaping. Why? She saved me for what reason? As he began to feel dizzy and close to passing out, he began to ponder the possibilities.

"He was supposed to go to The Void because he is not worthy of being here," Alexis said.

Sean stirred up, trying to hold in his anger. "You can't."

"Silence," Alexis said, her eyes ablaze not looking into Sean's direction. "This matter is above your understanding." Alexis adverts her eyes to Samantha with an intense look.

Samantha smiles at Sean as she glances back at him. "I have no remorse at all for giving you another opportunity," She remarked.

Two angels with white masks and blank expressions entered the room and placed golden chains on her wrists.

"Your actions have made me totally disgusted," Alexis bellowed. "As a Guardian Angel, you'll be stripped of your powers and bound."

Sean wished he could smack Alexis in the face. Samantha had to have rescued him for a purpose. Why is she unable to speak? Why isn't Alexis allowing her to speak? Sean's thoughts were racing.

To get closer to Samantha, he jumped over the table where he was sitting and ran toward her with open arms.

"You shall not touch," one of the angels said, putting out his hand.

Sean wanted to give his angel a hug, he shifted his feet dodging the hand of the large angel.

Elijah let go a slight smirk, impressed at Sean's antics.

After turning around, Samantha noticed Sean's firm grip on her arm. "Don't worry about me. I'm sure of what I did."

Sean felt his eyes start to trickle with water. Tears flooded his cheeks. He held onto the tall angel tight, rubbing his head into her arm. "You can't go. What am I to do? I don't know who to put my trust in.

"Trust in the ones who love you. I love you, and Tabatha adores you. Trust in us and use what you were taught here to find your way to her." Samantha's eyes moistened.

She's crying..I've never seen her cry. Sean felt his body being stripped from hers as he was thrown back across the way. He concentrated flipping in the air as he landed on the ground, feet up, looking at the two tall angels. "Is that all you got?"

Sean's pathetic effort to stand in their way was ignored by the angels. They led Samantha away from the corridor where the angels had appeared, holding her tightly in their arms.

Sean stood there staring at Alexis, knowing he had no right to challenge the lead angel in a Dreamweaver's Society.

It's not fair. It's not fair. He felt dizzy as he walked over to Elijah, Macedon, at Emery.

"Sean," Alexis spoke; looking at him she opened the book. "You are an anomaly, and therefore not supposed to be here. I will make an exception for you to pursue your status as a Dreamweaver. Make one mistake, and you will be tossed into The Void. You need to be on your best behavior while I investigate this matter. There could be more than meets the eye." Alexis looked at Sean and winks her right eye.

Sean raised his eyes to meet Alexis's, seeking to gauge her level of sympathy for his plight. If there was an internal audit, Samantha had a wild wish to fall on the sword. For the first time, Sean thought of the Goddess Anastasia and the power she may have. If you are there, Goddess Anastasia, please comfort me, please help me see the truth in all of this.Is your judgment so harsh that you would take those we love away?

Sean wept as he gazed at the angels on the left and screamed into his hands.
