"Wake up, wake up, cutie," he heard from the alarm clock. "Wake up, you are a beauty, you're so sexy, I want to tickle your nose. Wake up, buzz buzz." This thing is super cute; I love this. Sean was trying to put away the memory of what happened yesterday and trying to focus on the way ahead. I can do this. It's time for me to push forward. I can't sit and sulk; I have to get going. It's what Samantha would say, and ironically what Tabatha would say to keep going and never look back. Sean pressed the cute alarm doll turning it off. He looked over at the clothes he had set aside for today. It was a blue suit this time with a white shirt and a blue tie. It had the initials SW on it for Sean Wilton underneath the right breast pocket.
Sean crawled out of bed and walked over to the restroom and did his hair up, then curved it to the left and to the right, and eventually went for more of a laid-back haircut like when he would have a date night with Tabatha. He then put cream on his face and let go a small smile. The pain is still there, but I have to push forward.Anastasia does love me, then she will give me the strength to carry on. Right, I guess I need to believe that everything I see here is real; I think she must be real. And I'd rather not get on her wrong side. Sean walked over and put on his white t-shirt and slacks, and started to boil a cup of tea.
Knock, knock knock!
I wonder who could that be. Sean opened the door, and he felt two arms wrap around him.
"I can't believe I'm with you." Melody jumped around Sean and twirled in a circle hugging him again. "We're going on a mission today!"
"Wait, what?" Sean said, looking at Melody. "First of all, good morning, and I didn't know that if you worked in a post office you could also go on a mission."
"I am a Dreamweaver," Melody exclaimed, "I've been here for a while, and I'm training with my Guardian Angel to hone my skills. So I can shorten my sentence." "What?" Sean said. "How long are you here for, and thank you for the hug. I appreciate it." She was there in front of him with a bright green dress and black leggings. Her pigtails danced down to her hips.
"I had my hair up yesterday when you saw me, but this is how long it actually is. It can reach all the way down to my legs, but I like the pigtails, it took me an hour and a half to get ready this morning, and by the way, I left you a note. I got the news yesterday that I was going to team up with you. Did you not read the letter!?"
"Where did you leave the letter? I got a box, but I didn't get a letter," Sean said, walking over and putting on the blue tie.
"I left a letter underneath the cushion outside. I thought it would be cute if you went on a scavenger hunt," Melody said, walking out and grabbing the letter. "I got news from my Guardian Angel that I am bringing you with me this morning. On our first expedition, two more experienced Dreamweavers will accompany us. It makes me feel bad that you didn't open the letter. Regardless, I'll open it for you. "
"Don't worry, I'll read it when I get back," Sean said. "Would you like some tea? I could put the kettle on for you. By the way, how long is your sentence?"
"I'm okay without the tea. I had a cup of coffee this morning. Can you swear you won't laugh if I tell you something?" Melody put her two thumbs together, looking at the ground.
"I promise I won't. I can't. I don't even know how long my sentence is. They didn't even tell me yet. Maybe it comes later, I don't know." Sean made a heartfelt gesture with his hands, addressing Melody, who stood in front of him with genuine interest. "I swear I'm not going to laugh."
"30 years." She squeaked up.
"Thirty years," Sean said, "what did you do, kill somebody? It's not funny. It's a little intense. I mean, you must have done something pretty bad to get so many years of postal duty. And you said it's probably the lowest job of them all. But I don't judge you. I've made plenty of mistakes. I was a lazy good for nothing guy. So if you did anything evil, then I wasted time, so I would never judge you for anything. No, I would like to hear your story sometime. It has to be pretty funny, right?"
Melody took a deep sigh as she tried not to smile. "Thanks for not laughing. When the time is right, I will tell you why I became a Dreamweaver. I work so hard because I'm searching for that too. And I can see in your eyes you are as well, so let's make a promise. We will both help each other get the answers we want. No matter what, no matter what it takes, we'll have each other's backs. What do you say?" Melody put her pinky out with a cheerful smile. Her freckles flared up.
I guess maybe the goddess did listen. This is a significant turn of events. Maybe Melody knows some things since she's been here for a while. "Sure, why not?" Sean put out his pinky gripping hers. "I know the tricks. You know how the kids were back in the day."
Melody winked at him as she let go of her pinky. "All right, get your essentials. I'm going to be outside."We don't want to be late," she said, glancing at her gold and silver-accented watch. From here, it's roughly ten minutes to get there.
"You know how to get there already," Sean said. "You know everything, don't you? Give me a moment to put my shoes and socks on. I'll be right out."
Melody grinned as she ran out the door, eagerly awaiting Sean's arrival.
I'm glad she came. I would be in a world of hurt. We may have to pay for a taxi, and they gave me a card. I don't know if I'm gonna need it or not. Sean grabbed the card, put it into the metal holder it came in, and slipped it into his coat pocket. He put the sports coat on, blue in color, and walked out the door out into the morning's sunshine.
