The happy Max felt as if a cold water has been splashed on his face the moment he saw the system mission.
"What the sh*t is this, I don't even have any power and you are issuing mission, do you want me to die?]
Max became furious as he question the system.
[In other to become a great thief there must be risk, all host needs for his survival are already provided]
Hearing the lecture of the system, Max hot headedness cool, he didn't know what the system means by saying what he needed are already available but he didn't ask yet.
"You should have at least let me explore this new world a little before any mission" Max murmured.
"Wait I've been sitting on the same spot since I got here, and what that thing that cool my body and make my hunger disappear"
No longer feeling any fatigue Max stood up steadily and move towards the sunlight.
What it him was not the yellow ray sun light he was wishing for, the whole place was dull and filled with ash like color, as he takes in a deep breath Max released a sigh as he knew this air was bit toxic and might be bad for his health, but he had no way to defend against it except he stops breathing, which is impossible.
As he looked around what Max saw left his jaw agaped, there where house rubble here and there and even the road was filled with craters.
"Where in the world did I end up at" even though he had gain the memories of Jack he was still left shocked.
From the memories he received he already had a knowledgeable foundation of this place. This is the outer part of Rustward city and only those strong enough can decide how to live their life.
Checking through the memories Max got the location of Jack's place and headed there.
When he saw the half crumbled home, Max wasn't surprise as he already knew what to come. The outer part of the building was rough and rubbled, similar buildings where also available at the surroundings, Max didn't delay and went inside.
The inside was a bit different from the outside even though Jack was poor he never lived a dirty life. The place was about 2 meters wide, with only a torn mattress in place. Max moved towards the torn mat, open it and bring out a rough looking cloth wrap.
Without hesitation Max began unwrapping it, he had all the memories of Jack, just as if he had lived the life of Jack himself.
Inside the cloth wrap where two pieces of dry lotus, this is one of the common food without a high price. Jack had always been keeping some foods for any emergency without knowing that someone else in his body would guffawed everything at once.
"Hah" that's at least a bit satisfying.
"I shouldn't waste time, I only have four days to complete this mission"
"System can you now give me the things you said are available" Max spoke out loud and if he was with someone else, they might think he had gone crazy.

Max was joyous as he immediately spend his larceny point, reducing it to just 5 from 100. Just as he finished talking and was about to ask how the technique and skills going to arrive a massive surge of energy burst into his head.

Max joyous expression immediately turn into that of someone that was feeling excruciating pain and that true.
The energy that surge into his brain made him feel like a hand had penetrated into his brain trying to tear it open.
The pain was not something a person like Max who had even gone through a life before could take as he blank out, fallen head first on the ground.

After an unknown amount of time had passed Max finally woke up, he rubbed his throbbing head a little and hiss slightly.
As the throbbing resided Max felt something different, he felt his perception of his surroundings became slightly clearer.
"System is that your making me suffer intense pain?" Max immediately became angry as he asked the system if it the that cause him immense pain.
Since he arrived at this world he had been receiving boundless head splitting so he needed to clearify what was the issue.

"So anytime I buy skill and technique from the system I will receive endless pain right" he asked but the system cold voice didn't reply.
Max was not as young as he looks he had lived a life of more than two decades and his will had improved since he had nobody to rely on, he also got caught while stealing facing unimaginable penalties but he still didn't stop.
Now here he was given the opportunity to become an even greater thief with ability, why will he refused just for a limited pain hitting him.
