Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: An Old Acquaintance Comes to Visit

"This must be the place."

A petite figure walked through the city gate.

She was wearing an Adventurer's trench coat and a hat, an outfit that made people wary, as some thieves and pickpockets also liked to dress that way. However, her silhouette vaguely revealed her to be a small girl, and the occasional glimpse of her skin was very fair and tender. Rather than a thief, she looked more like a young lady who had snuck out.

She murmured softly in an utterly unfamiliar language, a language from another world called 'Japanese,' a language only Reincarnators mastered. She said, "I finally found you, Classmate Yatsuhata Tsukasa, Teacher is coming to see you now!"

In the Villa's main hall.

The black-haired girl sat gracefully on a rose-red chair, her dual purple and black eyes slightly hazy from lack of sleep. She looked at the meal and black tea brought by the maid, picked up the teacup, and the aroma of the tea slightly cleared her mind.

"Good morning."

Light suddenly emanated from the opposite seat. Eidor still liked to appear in that mysterious way; indeed, being proficient in Spatial Magic was great. Classmate Tsukasa habitually looked at her skill bar for the day, but as expected, she still didn't see any Spatial Magic. Did she really not have talent in this area? Or was she missing some condition? Although she really wanted to learn Spatial Magic, she didn't show this feeling or mention it to Eidor.

"Good morning, Eidor."

The two had little to say in the morning, simply enjoying the quiet and leisurely morning tea. It must be said that Shadow Demons are truly convenient Familiars. The maid-type Shadow Demon's skills are truly

very comprehensive. Not only are they proficient in various household chores, but they also possess skills like cooking and tea ceremony. It's truly difficult to understand the principle behind a Familiar summoned from a random maid's shadow having superior skills to the shadow's owner.

"What's wrong?" Eidor suddenly asked.

Classmate Tsukasa, who was drinking morning tea, shivered and replied, somewhat bewildered, "I'm not sure, but I feel like something just triggered my skill. This feeling isn't very strong, though; it doesn't feel like sensing danger, but rather sensing some kind of event. Have those nobles finally lost their patience?"

Her tone was flat; she seemed to completely disregard the nobles' threat. After realizing that the city's strongest combat power had an attribute value of less than 1000, she was no longer afraid of provoking the local nobles. As her business grew, and she forcibly seized a large portion of those nobles' profit pie, a counterattack was inevitable. It was only a matter of time, and it was foreseeable.

"Please don't hesitate to ask if you need my help," Eidor floated over and sat on Classmate Tsukasa's shoulder, her sacred golden eyes very serious, like a loving and protective mother.

Classmate Tsukasa shook her head.

Eidor as her mom?

That felt too strange.

Moreover, the mother in her memory wasn't such a wonderful creature. Eidor's divinity was too sacred; that transcendent aura, combined with her detached personality, made such a perfect creature impossible to be a mother. The truth was, creatures like the Fairy Race, who were naturally perfect, didn't need to procreate. Eidor's maternal nature was actually an aspect of her divinity.

But this kind of gentle and compassionate nature, like a mother goddess, was enough to make one fall. If not for Classmate Tsukasa's firm willpower and Eidor's extremely small stature, she might have been unable to resist worshipping Eidor. Divinity truly was a terrifying power; weaker individuals could be affected by it just by proximity, and this influence was purely natural, not a charm skill or anything similar.

Eidor didn't know what Classmate Tsukasa was thinking. She hadn't used Mind Reading on Classmate Tsukasa for a while, and Classmate Tsukasa, due to being read before, had acquired a skill called "Mental Guardian." This skill granted immunity to Mind Reading, charm, and similar skill effects.

Now, even Eidor found Mind Reading difficult.

After morning tea.

Classmate Tsukasa took a photocopy of the introductory textbook for the Magic Academy's grimoire and went to a seat under the parasol in the courtyard, flipping through the book. The book's content explained how to acquire skills, improve skill proficiency, develop skills, and enhance magic power and magic attributes.

It should be said that it lives up to its reputation as a noble academy textbook; it's very comprehensive. Although it's only an introductory textbook, it might be the best magic enlightenment book in this country.

But unfortunately.

This book was not of much use to her, a Reincarnator who could directly acquire skills using skill points.

Moreover, this wasn't a true training manual, as it only taught how to use the System's power, essentially just a simple user manual for the System.

The power of this world originated from the System. The humans of this world had long forgotten true techniques, and without the System, they would instantly become squibs with magic power but unable to cast even the lowest-level spells. She was also subject to the same restrictions.

"Even though this problem is indeed serious, as expected, after practicing according to the method Eidor taught me for several months, there hasn't been any progress at all. The only improvement is that this inexplicable skill 'Taboo' has leveled up quite a bit."

What Eidor had imparted to her was a secret technique of the Fairy Race.

It was something akin to a breathing technique or a meditation method.

According to Eidor,

Because the Fairy Race are born as the incarnations of elements, these secret techniques were originally created for humans to learn.

In the ancient era, before the planet's energy had been exhausted, the Fairy Race and the Human Race still interacted. Moreover, at that time, true demons existed in this world. Just like the scenarios designed by the current system, the relationship between the Human Race and the Demon Race back then was not very good either.

The weak Human Race was no match for those true demons, so they sought help from other races. Finally, they received a response from the Fairy Race, obtaining the secret techniques and holy swords granted by them.

At that time, the Fairy Race acted out of an elder-like attitude, unwilling to see the Human Race exterminated by the demons, so they bestowed the seeds of power upon them. However, they never expected that after obtaining the Fairy Race's secret arts, the Human Race would not only successfully repel the demons but eventually become the overlords of the continent, developing an incredibly prosperous civilization.

The Human Race later invented a power of their own: technology. But because they failed to control this power properly, it eventually violated a Taboo, bringing destruction to the planet. Consequently, the Human Race became the sinners of the world.

The'seed' that Eidor was now passing on to Tsukasa was the same one the Fairy Race had taught the Human Race back then. It was a truly extraordinary path to godhood. Although the Human Race lacked the key component to become gods, Eidor believed Tsukasa was different, because she possessed far too many powers that a human could not possibly have.
