Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

"Alright, students!"

Thirteen turned back toward the class and raised a hand. "Before we begin today's lesson, I need to say a few words."

"I believe most of you already know that my Quirk, Black Hole, allows me to absorb anything and crush it into dust. That's how I'm able to handle extreme disaster scenarios and rescue people safely."

She spread her palms slightly as she spoke.

"But at the same time, this is an extremely dangerous ability. If it's used carelessly, it can very easily kill someone." After all, even steel and reinforced concrete were reduced to nothing by her Quirk—ordinary human bodies stood no chance.

"Among you students, there are some who possess similarly dangerous Quirks."

"Yes," Aizawa Shouta continued sternly, picking up Thirteen's words, his tired eyes sweeping across the class—and briefly stopping on Igarashi Masata.

"Although Quirk usage is strictly regulated in modern society, even so, a single mistake can cost lives. You all need to remember that."

"After Aizawa-sensei's physical evaluations, you should already understand the potential of your own strength," Thirteen said.

"And after witnessing All Might's battles, you should also have a clearer idea of just how destructive power can be."

"Today, we'll learn how to use that power to save others."

Aizawa was just about to announce the start of the lesson—

Szzzz—

A sharp, unnatural sound echoed through USJ. The lights flickered, then dimmed.

At the center of the artificial pool, a swirling vortex of black mist suddenly formed. From within it, a pale, slender hand slowly extended outward—followed by the rest of its owner.

A strange man stepped out.

He had silver hair, a thin frame, black tight-fitting clothes, and red sneakers. His entire body was covered with severed hands—one even placed directly over his face.

Behind him, figures began emerging from the expanding black mist one after another. Villains of various appearances stepped forward, forming ranks behind the silver-haired youth, who clearly stood at their center.

Aizawa's expression changed instantly.

This was not part of the lesson plan.

"Everyone, gather together! Do not move around!"

"Protect Thirteen!"

"They're villains!"

It was the first time Masata had ever seen Aizawa-sensei look like this—anger and urgency mixed with genuine concern for his students. This wasn't a drill.

"Everyone, listen to Aizawa-sensei!" Masata shouted as the class leader.

He already understood what was happening. Someone had successfully infiltrated U.A., and these were undoubtedly their accomplices.

The silver-haired man scanned the surroundings of USJ, irritation creeping into his posture when he didn't see who he expected.

"According to the intel… All Might should be here."

His voice was hoarse and unsettling.

"Hey, hey, hey—where is he?"

"After going through all the trouble of bringing so many people here… the Symbol of Peace isn't even present?"

"If we kill these brats," he continued calmly, "he'll come out eventually, right?"

Despite his face being partially obscured by the hand, the malice rolling off him was overwhelming. For students who had never truly faced villains before, cold sweat broke out instantly.

Aizawa had already pulled on his goggles and unraveled his capture scarf.

"Thirteen, evacuate the students immediately!"

"Kaminari—try to contact the school using your Quirk!"

Before the echo of his words faded, Aizawa charged straight toward the villains.

"But Aizawa-sensei—your Quirk isn't suited for group combat!" Midoriya Izuku blurted out instinctively.

"Don't worry, Izuku!" Masata cut in firmly.

"Aizawa-sensei is doing exactly what a real hero is supposed to do!"

"What right do we have to stop a man from fulfilling his duty?"

Even though Masata was worried, he knew the real danger wasn't Aizawa—it was the terrified classmates behind him. As the strongest among them, his responsibility was clear.

"Everyone, follow me!" Thirteen shouted, guiding the students toward the exit—

But their path was suddenly blocked by a wall of black mist.

"When we first meet," a distorted voice echoed,

"allow me to introduce us."

The mist condensed into a humanoid shape—Kurogiri.

"We are the League of Villains."

"Our purpose today was simple," he continued calmly.

"To let All Might—the Symbol of Peace—die here."

"I don't know why he isn't present," Kurogiri said, his voice twisting with amusement.

"But stopping you… is still my responsibility."

The words killing All Might hit the students like a hammer.

"I said—"

"Are you really allowed to act so smug?"

A figure stepped forward from the crowd.

"I hate people who act cool in front of me."

Igarashi Masata's eyes burned.

"Lava Shotgun!"

He thrust both arms forward, palms open. Dozens of small magma bullets erupted from his hands, screaming through the air toward Kurogiri. Though each projectile wasn't overwhelmingly powerful, their speed and density made the attack extremely practical.

Just before impact, a dark void opened in front of Kurogiri.

The magma vanished without a sound.

"…That's terrifying," Kurogiri said slowly.

"Magma, huh? Students these days are frightening."

Then his body exploded into a massive cloud of black mist, swallowing everything in its path.

One by one, the students disappeared.

Masata swung his fists wildly, but there was nothing to hit.

When light returned—

He found himself standing on a barren mountainside.

"So it's not lethal like Thirteen's Quirk… just transportation?" Masata muttered, checking his body. No injuries. His combat instincts sharpened instead.

"Masata! You're here too!"

A familiar voice came from behind.

He turned to see Yaoyorozu Momo, Kaminari Denki, and Jiro Kyoka nearby.

"Momo! Kaminari! Jiro—are you hurt?!"

Momo cut him off sharply.

"This can wait! Haven't you noticed? We're surrounded!"

She was right.

Misshapen villains stood all around them, wounded but still dangerous. The three had already formed a defensive triangle by the time Masata arrived.

"…Yeah," Masata said calmly, eyes scanning their enemies.

"I see them."

"But they've only got one chance left."

Standing at the top of the hill, Masata looked down at the encircling villains with a cold smile.
