Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Hidden Talents

After the students made a lot of noise, a strong man with muscles all over his body blew a whistle to quiet things down a bit. This was their gym teacher.

"Okay, class is about to start. Everyone, gather around."

Soon, the boys and girls gathered, but out of the class of forty, only about twenty were there.

"Only twenty-four people? There are a lot of trainees." He looked at the students on the second floor, and it was clear that some were deliberately slacking off. "Alright, you guys do some warm-up exercises, then go swim. I want to see your current level and try to get you to learn to swim before summer."

"It's okay if I don't learn to swim. I'm not going to the beach anyway."

"That won't do. It doesn't matter if you're not good at it now, I'll help you overcome it. Learning to swim will definitely come in handy later, definitely."

Unlike those teachers who let students do whatever they want, this gym teacher directly refused the student's suggestion, and his words also hinted at something.

Was he saying that swimming skills might be needed for future special tests?

So, under his instructions, the students did warm-up exercises and then started practicing the fifty-meter freestyle.

Kamio Tatsuya actually couldn't swim, but because his physical abilities had been strengthened, he learned quickly and swam pretty well.

Barely third to last, though.

"Looks like your athletic ability isn't bad."

As soon as he got out of the water, someone came to talk to him.

After wiping the water from his face, Kamio Tatsuya saw who it was: Horikita Suzune.

You always make fun of me at any chance. You're no fun.

She was originally a very beautiful girl, although her figure wasn't as good as Kushida's and Hasebe's, she was still in Kamio Tatsuya's sweet spot.

Especially with the school swimsuit sticking to her body, her curves were even more obvious.

"So-so."

Kamio Tatsuya squeezed the water out of his hair as much as possible and answered casually.

"Aren't you going to swim?"

"I just swam. It's just gym class, there's no need to be too serious," Horikita Suzune said calmly.

Just then, the strong gym teacher spoke up again.

"Looks like almost everyone can swim. In that case, let's have a competition. Boys and girls separately, and I'll give the first-place winner five thousand private points as a reward. But anyone who doesn't meet the standard will have to take extra lessons."

Hearing this, Horikita Suzune's eyes changed immediately.

Although she wasn't that interested in regular swimming class, she really wanted those five thousand points.

Ever since she was tricked out of ninety thousand points by someone, her life had been very tight.

Now that there was a chance to get points, she felt she should seize it.

"You don't want to get first place, do you?"

Noticing the change in her eyes, Kamio Tatsuya asked curiously.

"Is there a problem?"

"Uh, I mean, are you good at swimming?"

"I wouldn't say I'm good at it, but I'm not bad either."

"I see, good luck."

Soon, the competition began, with the students competing in groups of five.

Since there were only ten girls, they started with the girls first. Horikita Suzune was in the first group of five.

After the whistle, the five girls jumped into the water. Horikita took the lead in the second lane from the start and maintained it all the way to the finish line, securing first place.

The time was less than twenty-eight seconds, twenty-seven point one three to be exact.

Kamio Tatsuya was instantly stunned.

Damn, that was national athlete level. She said she wasn't good at swimming? The world record was only twenty-three point six one.

But there was something even more exaggerated. A girl named Onodera Kaya in the second group managed to reach the finish line in less than twenty-seven seconds.

Horikita Suzune narrowly lost, didn't get first place, and naturally didn't get the reward of five thousand points.

This made her look a little disappointed.

"Too bad."

"Hmph, wait and see how you do."

Horikita Suzune snorted and stopped talking.

Next was the boys' group, and Kamio Tatsuya was in the first group.

Kamio Tatsuya never thought about getting first place. First, he didn't have the ability, and second, he didn't need the points.

After swimming, Kamio Tatsuya took almost fifty seconds to reach the finish line, the slowest in the first group, about twice as slow as Sudou Ken, who came in first.

He reached the finish line in less than twenty-five seconds.

But while he was the slowest in the first group, he wasn't the slowest in the class. Yamauchi in the second group was even worse than Kamio Tatsuya.

Sudou's time was pretty amazing for a student. Even Hirata, the first-place winner in the second group, was almost a second slower than him.

But there's always someone better. Koenji Rokusuke in the third group swam a time of twenty-three point two two seconds, almost making Kamio Tatsuya's jaw drop.

And looking at his relaxed manner, it seemed he hadn't even used his full strength. He had probably just used enough strength to get first place.

The Japanese record for the fifty-meter freestyle was only twenty-one point six seven seconds. Was this school that crazy?

He could just go become a professional athlete, right?

But unfortunately, he was the only son of the Koenji financial group. Either way, his future was to inherit the Koenji financial group, not to become an athlete.

But Kamio Tatsuya was surprised that this guy was willing to put in his full effort. Did he not have enough points?

Possibly. During Kamio Tatsuya's suspension, he had seen him entering and leaving restaurants with older female students on the shopping street more than once.

But what made Kamio Tatsuya speechless was Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

That guy's time was about forty seconds, ranking tenth, neither good nor bad. It was obvious that he was seriously slacking off.

Seriously, dude?

Do you think you're Saiki Kusuo?

Are you afraid of people knowing you have superpowers?

Are you kidding me? I'm a time traveler, am I afraid?

But now that I think about it, there are quite a few talented people in Class D. Aside from Koenji, if Sudou and Onodera fully developed their athletic abilities, they could definitely be selected for the national team.

Kamio Tatsuya even felt that they were wasting their time still being in school.

"It took you almost a minute to swim a measly fifty-meter freestyle. Are you sure your muscles aren't just for show?"

As soon as the competition ended, Horikita Suzune couldn't wait to come over and make fun of Kamio Tatsuya.

"Oh."

Kamio Tatsuya's indifferent reply gave Horikita Suzune the feeling of punching cotton.

"Actually, this is the first time I've ever swam," Kamio Tatsuya added.

The first time swimming?

Horikita Suzune was a little speechless, then she recalled his movements. At the beginning of practice, many things were indeed very unnatural.

But during the competition, he had already corrected a lot of them.

He learned it in just a short while? And he could swim better than some people?

Did people with such strong learning abilities really exist?

Horikita Suzune was very doubtful.
