Sansa's POV
"No… stop." My father said suddenly, making me snap my head toward where he stood. Relief washed over me as the chief of staff removed his hands from me.
"Beta Morgan, you do not need to stress about the maid. She will be thoroughly investigated and dealt with. Let us proceed with our meeting," the king said.
"Your Majesty, I do not underestimate the power of the palace investigation process, I know how excellent and vast they are But that is not why I stopped her. I never said she stole. It is something else, something very important I wish to…" he paused as though reflecting on his words. Then his gaze turned to me.
"I want to ask her some questions, Your Majesty. That is, if you don't mind."
The king's gaze shifted from my father to me, as if pondering what he would possibly want to speak to me about in the middle of a pending meeting.
I too wanted to know.
