Koa's pov
I had thought the meeting wouldn't take more than an hour or two but I was wrong.
I had to painfully listen through the whole session from father and his elders offering their condolences, then planning her funeral, to other matters.
I had never been that bored of anything in my life.
I suddenly wished I had disobeyed my father and ran when I could until much later when the meeting must have gone far, but there I was painfully listening and dropping comments.
Initially when the meeting started, I was overjoyed with enthusiasm, especially with the thought of my mate actually harming Chelly.
That thought had thrilled me… until it wasn't what I hoped for. The topic shifted, and they moved on to other matters that had brought us together.
It wasn't until father finally said we could excuse ourselves if we wanted to that I felt a shred of relief.
I wasted no time leaving, not dwelling on it for a second.
