Vera's POV:
Home alone and I'm so bored. Woah I haven't received any letter about my project I would have to ask Tiara when she's back. Tiara decided to stay with me because I lost my job for absolutely no reason so she's the one paying the bills for now, So since I'm jobless and home alone I decided to do some cleaning.
After cleaning the sitting room, bathrooms and my room and still plenty time I decided to clean Tiara's room. While cleaning her desk something in a white envelope falls on the floor.
It's a letter to me from the program, but why is it with her. I opened it and I was shocked to see what was in it.
Dear Vera, we are sorry to inform you that you no longer qualify for the sponsorship since you didn't do the last project.
But Tiara said she would submit it for me, I have a lot of questions to ask her, but then something else caught my attention, another envelope just like mine but with a different name, I picked it up and the name I saw was Alexa...our enemy. Why does she have this, I opened it and was reading and then Tiara walks in.
Tiara. "Oh hi, what are you doing in my room?"
"What is this?"
Tiara chuckles nervously. "Umm note give it to me."
"You gave Alexa my project and now she has the scholarship."
Tiara. "No she stole it from me."
"How?"
Tiara. "Ummm, I don't know but maybe....."
"Shut up you backstabbing b***h, I trusted you and this is how you repay me. I mean Alexa is our enemy."
Tiara. "She's your enemy not mine."
"What do you mean, she bullied both of us in highschool."
Tiara. "Well she offered me 500 dollars for your project and do you think that I would let you have the scholarship while I remain here."
"But you said this would not come between us and you'll be fine no matter who wins, how could you do this to me?.... It's my dream."
Tiara. "It's my dream too but I guess not all dreams come true. I'll give you 300 dollars and keep the rest."
"Are you mad?, get out of my house now!!"
Tiara. "Your house??, have u forgotten who pays the bills here?, You're jobless and you can't afford this house anymore, so if anybody is going to leave it's you."
I stormed out of the room angrily and I begin to pack my things, with tears streaming down my face I begin to think where would I live?, I literally don't have anywhere to go but i prefer living in the streets than being here with this betrayer.
Tiara. "You know if you beg me I would let you stay."
"No way!!"
I leave the house and begin to walk on the streets, and then night came. I had absolutely nowhere to go, I find the nearest subway and settle there. Just for today I say to myself.
A squeaking noise woke me from my sleep, I on my phone torchlight to see where the sound came from and then something jumped on me, startled I sprinted up and screamed and then I realized it was a rat.
Stranger. "Hello is anyone there?"
"Shit!!"
Stranger. "Hey, why are you here by this time of the night."
"Ummm I have nowhere to go."
Stranger. "Ohh that's sad, you can follow me and I'll take you to my house."
"Umm thanks but I don't know you."
Stranger. "Well my name is Xavier and would you rather sleep in a subway with rats?"
"You're right."
Xavier. "Come let me take you to my car."
"Okay, thanks."
I followed him and entered his car.
"Umm what are you doing outside by this time."
Xavier. "Ohh umm I'm just coming back from a road trip."
"A road trip?"
Xavier. "Yeah, I like to do so. Umm what is your name?"
"My name is Vera."
Xavier. "Vera, nice name. But what happened?
"It's a long story I'll tell you later. I just need to sleep."
"Okay, Vera."
The way he says my name, like it's something very precious. I can't really see his face because of the darkness that surrounds us but his eyes....so beautiful, they're golden and they shine in the dark. I have never seen such beautiful eyes.
Xavier. "Any problem?"
"Huh?"
Xavier. "You've been staring at me for a very long time."
"Ohhh ummm...you have beautiful eyes."
Shit, I can't believe I just said that.
Xavier chuckles. "Yeah, thank you."
"What?"
Xavier. "Ummm nothing.....just that you're really beautiful."
"Ohhhh"
I'm blushing, why am I blushing?. Oh God I wish I could just disappear from here.
Xavier. "You look cute when you blush."
"Tha....thankkkk you."
What the f**k happened to my voice. Ooh is this guy using a charm or something. Why is my body acting weird all of a sudden.
Xavier. "We're here."
"Huh?"
Xavier. "We've reached my house."
"Ooh."
We both come out of the car and walk towards the house.
"You have a really big and nice house. Do you live here alone?"
Xavier. "Yes."
"Nice."
Xavier. "Come in."
I was stunned at the sight of his house, luxury items everywhere. The decor is something I have never seen in my life.
"Are you a billionaire or something?"
Xavier chuckles. "Ummm well yeah."
"No way, what do you do for a living.....Sorry if that question was weird."
Xavier. "Oh no it's fine, I own a company so....."
"Woah that's amazing."
Xavier. "Okay enough talk about the house, do you want water or something?"
"Yes water is fine."
Xavier. "Okay."
I sit there amazed, I have never seen a house as beautiful as this.
Xavier. "Here you go."
I take the water from his hand. "Thank you."
Xavier. "So you can use the bedroom next to the stairs and if you need anything let me know."
"You don't have maids?"
Xavier. "I do but I don't let them sleep here, I like my privacy."
After drinking the water I decide it's time for me to go to bed.
"Thank you I'm going to bed now, goodnight."
Xavier. "Goodnight angel...he murmured lowly."
"What did u say?"
Xavier chuckles lightly. "Umm nothing."
"Okay."
Then I head to the room to sleep.
