Rain
hung over the city that day.It wasn't falling yet but it threatened to,as if the sky itself was holding its breath.The clouds were heavy,layered in shades of grey.Anie stood by the window when she woke up,looking out.The city looked like it was waiting.
It's been Five months.
Five months were enough for the world
to learn how to move on and pretend everything was normal again.Anie had learned it too.She wore her uniform Slung her bag over her shoulder.Looked into the mirror one last time.The same face But her eyes they no longer carried invisibility.
There was alertness now A quiet readiness.As if something was about to begin.She stepped outside,The road glistened with rainwater.Glass buildings bent the reflection of the city,twisting it into fragments.
