Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 — Fragment of the Past

The prophecies have fallen.

And with them… a fate no one will be able to escape.

══ ✦ ══

You will be the first to Sleep, for a future era you will never see. (?/1)

You will Fall before the path your destiny has always drawn. (?/1)

You will Die alone, in a pool stained crimson. (?/1)

You will Rest while gazing upon a Y'onn. But will you be able to witness this new era despite the past? (?/1)

You will Fall for your brothers and sisters, and be reborn for the Universe. (?/1)

You will Die in a final duel against your brother-in-arms. (?/1)

How many prophecies will fall… before the last one?

"When the ——— fall, the ——— will ——— upon a world set ablaze by blood and fire."

══ ✦ ══

The words of an unknown girl still echo within me,

like a mark even time itself could never erase.

— Hold on to the memories you have of them… or you will fall before the end.

I did not yet understand what she meant.

Chapter 1 — Fragment of the Past

She was there. Right in front of me.

Lying on the ground.

Her body was emptying itself of its own blood.

And I could do nothing…

nothing but watch her die.

Her final words, before leaving me alone in a world filled with hatred,

were forever engraved in my heart.

I took her into my arms.

And I could do nothing—

nothing but cry until my body had no tears left.

══ ✦ ══

Beneath a gray sky drowned in rain,

screams and sobs echoed throughout the capital.

The city lay in ruins.

The walls, the streets, even the stones themselves… bore the marks of spilled blood.

Once a symbol of peace, hope, and happiness,

it had become nothing more than a land of desolation.

Cries of pain blended with weeping.

Families mourned their dead, others begged to be saved.

Amid the chaos, a man did everything he could to help the wounded,

despite the trembling of his hands and the despair in his eyes.

And then, suddenly…

silence.

A heavy silence.

Thick.

Terrifying.

The entire city froze.

Uneasy, the man ran toward the center of the capital.

And when he arrived, he understood why the world itself seemed to be holding its breath.

The inhabitants had formed two lines,

on each side of the great avenue,

leaving a path open for someone.

He saw her.

The one he had fought beside for so many years.

A girl with a closed expression,

frozen in silent grief.

The marks of dried tears still stained her hollow eyes,

heavy with atrocious memories she could no longer bear.

In her arms…

rested another girl.

Lifeless.

The silence weighing upon the people was nothing compared to the one surrounding that body.

She walked on, alone,

ignoring the rubble, the cries, the dead,

as if nothing else mattered anymore.

As if her world had just collapsed.

══ ✦ ══

I had sworn to always stay by their side.

To always fight alongside them.

But when I saw her walking alone, carrying the body of our friend…

I did not dare step forward.

Seeing her like that—

her,

and the one who would never open her eyes again…

It destroyed me.

I felt my heart shatter,

leaving me speechless, unable to face reality.

That day,

I understood that nothing would ever be the same again.
